@emisikoandwati@MihrThakar Unfortunately it’s more tourist oriented (Entebee ~Kisumu~Mara) hence expensive (rather do Ksm~Nrb~Entebee). It’s almost a year now. Numbers are sustainable.
*Whoever will do commercial Kigali/Entebee~Kisumu~Mombasa will make good decision. Very viable route
What is my point?
Instead of letting affordable houaing monies lie idle, utilise half of it (37B) to create new 277.000 opportunities.
*This will not only create jobs but also inject money into circulation & stimulate the economy.
Youth Unemployment
The govt could consider (in the immediate) to mitigate unemployment
The problem:
For over 10 years, formal sector employees has stuck at below 4M
Each year, colleges chan out over 100k youths & many mark their 6th graduation anniversary without a salary
Focus on three areas…..
1. Unskilled youths ~ secure a livelihood from affordable housing value chain (already happening
2. Young women & unskilled II ~ reintroduce Kazi Kwa Vijana with 347 constituencies each employing 500 pax at a rate of 400 per day (347*500*12k*12 = 24.9B
3. Skilled youths (police; nurses; teachers; extension officers etc)~ 347 constituencies each employing 100 fresh graduates at a stipend of 30k per month (347*100*30000*12 = 12,492,000,000)
Total Req: 37,476,000,000/=
@DrBKhalwale Mhesh ammend that PFM Act! This kind of reporting is what has pushed counties to overinvest in hardwares yet softwares (medical workers or even medical drugs) should fit development defn. Will counties keep building when whats needed is O&M?
Shutting down federal agencies & foreign aid to “review” their efficiency is like closing every hospital emergency room for three months just to check if staff follow protocol.
Those in critical condition are left with nowhere to turn, & the “review” does far more harm..
@moneyacademyKE Kibos Sugar is set to relocate its industrial sugar refinery plant to Rwanda following the Kenyan government’s failure to grant it special economic status, allowing duty-free export of its products as it targets the regional market…..
@USAIDKenya This a 360 transformation. The direct & indirect beneficiaries are able to have DIGNITY, pay for their health, education & economic needs.
@moneyacademyKE This is sensationalism. The National FIF Act passed by Parliament says that each health facility opens & maintains a bank account. If a county has 300 health facilities, the LEAST the county (only department of health) should have is 300 bank accounts.
