Five years ago today, Donald Trump urged his supporters to attack Congress and the Capitol over a proven lie. More than 140 police officers were injured.
Trump then pardoned the attackers.
He betrayed his oath and his country, and we won't ever forget it.
The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. Except it doesn’t bend on its own—it bends because we pull it in the direction of justice. What keeps me hopeful during times like these is being surrounded by people who are doing just that.

As I prepare for several more keynotes and panel invitations on AI in Education, I thought I would share these seven perspectives I have on where we need to go with AI. Of course this is not comprehensive.
1⃣Yes, AI is going to break a lot of what we’re used to doing in the classroom.
2⃣Students will use it to cheat on traditional assignments. We need to teach them the value of honesty and banking trust.
3⃣AI will eventually get better at delivering academic content than we teachers are.
Personalized instruction at a level that even the best human teachers cannot deliver.
Teachers need to accept this.
4⃣We need to transform our curriculum to one that is enhanced, not broken, by AI.
With a greater emphasis on project based learning, teachers can show students how AI can release their creativity.
5⃣Failing to teach students how to use AI effectively and ethically will be considered malpractice.
Teachers and students who don’t learn how to use these tools will get out-competed.
6⃣Schools must ALSO provide a space for tech-free experiences.
We must double down on outdoor education, social interaction, and mindfulness practice to nurture the inner life.
7⃣One of our greatest challenges moving forward is exploring and discovering a meaningful life.
