@lightclients Looking at this table, I wonder if it would make sense to configure pruning by data structure. Maintaining all historical headers, for example, seems to carry a small footprint - and yields critical data for independently verifying proofs related to e.g. storage slots.
@lightclients I have some skepticism of any measures that increase dependence on “large, trusted institutions.” If the pros outweigh the cons, perhaps we could explore endowing hosting of this data via decentralized networks.
Reading up on IRS provision 6050I inserted into the Infra. bill set to pass in the house on Friday.

@dankrad@trent_vanepps Thanks! There's a lot here to read and noodle on. I agree that inevitably only a narrow range of actors will be able to build blocks, but wonder if there are indeed benefits to a broader group retaining state by default. Lots to consider with regard to the tradeoffs 🤔
@dankrad@trent_vanepps Thanks for sharing - there's some really great material in these notes! Am I reading correctly that this is ultimately "optional statelessness," and some actors - e.g. block producers - will always need to maintain state?
