Hofstadter's Law - The amount of time it will take to finish a task is always longer than expected, even if you account for Hofstadter's Law. #projectmanagement
@HustleBitch_@Jebus I snuck all kinds of stuff past the school district IT team as a teenager ๐คฃ of course kids are still getting around, there are too many exposure vectors.
@trendradar_app @naiivememe@BBZIOT Itโs been nothing but fake outs since going off the gold standard. Maybe longer. Enjoy the comfort while it lasts, historically you only get out of these situations with calamitous war.
Good project management is a lot like good plumbing.
No one is ever happy to have good plumbing. They expect it. It is taken for granted. Even sometimes looked down on.
Yet when something breaks, itโs suddenly the most important thing in the house and must be addressed.
@balajis What should we do about this stuff? I canโt stop any of it. I canโt fix it. Is it just buy Bitcoin and hold? Move out of the USA? Genuinely curious, Iโm not sure what to do about any of this.
@CoachHeath_ I work in software, mobile apps, games.
My kids know theyโre not getting smartphones until they are mature and skilled enough to live on their own.
Iโm too close to it all. I know too much. And I donโt even work on social media apps myself. Protect your kids.
@IAmOscarAdrian There is no end, so keep doing the most important stuff - particularly fitness. Death is the end, so you can be in pain and getting stronger, or in pain and getting weaker. Those are the only options.
Every. Single. Time. I set up a blockchain or crypto app, I want to put my head through a wall.
For all the money in this space, the fact that onboarding is so consistently a nightmare puts a massive user acquisition ceiling on your product.
