@clairebubblepop What are you personally doing to help it? We have a massive garden, 3 bee hives, and tons of plants for the pollinators. We see flying insects literally everywhere, and not just our own honey bees.
@caitoz People deceive. Some are also just selfish or irresponsible and refuse to take care of their children. And then there are those who truly do who need temporary help, meaning they wonโt be back consistently waiting with a hand out. It takes a lot of wisdom to discern between them.
@caitoz The generosity of churches has been exploited over and over again by those who refuse to work or be responsible for their own families has made churches much less willing to believe every person who calls. Many have told lies to get money for drugs/alcohol.
@caitoz Many of these people also give and serve generously at local food pantries. But even those families are vetted and are only allowed to come at certain intervals for a reason. You probably have not seen how many abuse these things that leave less for others.
@caitoz Many smaller churches are barely operational with rising costs for insurance and utilities. So the leaders arenโt just going to arbitrarily give anyone who calls whatever is asked, and itโs really absurd to assume they can or should.
@caitoz Iโve personally seen it. They have several packs of cigarettes and pop and fasr food wrappers all over their vehicle but canโt seem to buy diapers or formula for the babies. While we certainly have compassion for their children, the parents are irresponsible.
I remember my dad trying to comfort me when I had that first, horrible realization as a teenager that most people will not return the amount of effort that you put in to them and human relationships are complicated. He said, โI am sorry about that. Thatโs how itโs been most of my life, lots of friends have faded out. Iโm getting old and itโs still like that.โ โBut you canโt stop investing in people, even if they eventually disappear out of your life.โ
That made me cry even more at the time, but ya knowโฆ he was right.
@JamieBonkiewicz You can be worried about both. The junk food leads to health issues and this is part of the reason our health care is so expensive because we are paying for the care caused by over indulging on a constant stream of junk through taxation.
@TheMuppetPastor I went through a period of time like this personally. It was horrible. The worst time of my life. I will pray for her, and if you have contact with this person, can you send them my username and tell them to feel free to reach out to me?
@brenda_archer@CrnchyMama@broadwaybabyto Did I say that? You guys really cannot argue can you?
Iโm literally against all forms of taxation. ๐Itโs all theft.
Nice try, though.
@CrnchyMama@broadwaybabyto@brenda_archer Where does He say, โSteal from others to accomplish these thingsโ?
Charity is certainly a Christian trait, but stealing from one to give to another is not what Jesus is talking about here.
@broadwaybabyto Yes. YOU feed them. YOU house them. YOU give them medical care and clothes. The individual.
You donโt steal from your neighbors to give to others.
Thatโs the issue. That has always been the issue.
