Investors are fleeing the state. Iconic businesses like Starbucks are relocating. The tax base which pays for a significant percentage of the state budget are voting with their feet.

In 2015, Seattle’s office vacancy rate was about 6%. Today, it is 37%.

What in this tax on the wealthy changes that trajectory?

State spending has SIGNIFICANTLY outpaced inflation AND population growth, by more than 30% over the past decade. What state services are 30% better? They should ALL be 30%+ better on average. Can you name a single one whose outcomes have improved? Roads are worse. Property crime is worse. Public education is worse. Business formation is worse.

OUTCOMES matter. It is a SPENDING and FRAUD problem, not a revenue problem.
