@AaronDavid55906@AesPolitics1 Can you honestly say that if Biden administration did this, you would also say it's a dumb mistake, but mission successfull, no danger or catastrophe? Like, honestly? You guys were all over Obama for wearing a tan suit ffs!
@realcavsfans Fair. If the backcourt ultimately caps your defense, I'd rather keep an elite backline than weaken it for a modest wing upgrade. The Allen trade only works if the return genuinely changes the team's ceiling, which is what I was the proponent of from the start.
@realcavsfans That's the trade-off. The bigger goal is reducing the number of clean P&Rs with better POA defense and bigger wings. You accept less backline depth in exchange for fewer rotations being needed.
@realcavsfans True, but that's exactly why the Allen return has to include elite perimeter defense. If your wings and POA defense improve enough, you only need a competent backup 5 behind Mobley, not another starting-caliber center.
@realcavsfans I'd rather solve backup center with a cheap in-season move than pass on an impact wing. That's why the return matters. If Allen nets legit 3-and-D wings, the overall defense and offense can improve even with an average backup center because Mobley anchors most of the game, no?
@realcavsfans Find rotational centers somewhere after the wings I mentioned. Average backup centers are easier to find and therefore cheaper. Who exactly? Haven't given it much thought, to be honest.
@IsaacOkoroFan Thing is, their individual talent got them (barely) to the finals, but it was (and still is) a deeply flawed team that got exposed against Knicks. Roster construction sucks, no matter how good they look on paper. It's not so much about the result, as it is about the eye test.
@WyattWilburt@ShamsCharania He's since then matured a lot, and he gives Cavs what they desperately need - size and shooting at the wing. Solid, chepa pickup.
@PaulCla07383591@finkn23 That's debatable. The point is, East sucked last season, and this season it'll be way better, especially if the Leonard trade goes through. Meanwhile, unless Cavs make a major move, their seriously flawed roster will keep on flawing.
