@Cooperannuation Hey @Cooperannuation While not a perfect fix I thought that stapling was lesser evil than multiple accounts being opened up blindly, plus (not part of design of course but) 1st funds are generally better performers. Interested to know what data shows?
@JeremyKwongLaw a) Means they can allocate more assets to growth, not just to paying pensions so better returns for all, b) Some funds have very customised insurance (eg higher risk jobs). Agree that logical end point is 1 but there are many more steps before that. And some competition is good.
@JeremyKwongLaw Great to see lots of momentum with mergers now. Probably stronger negotiation getting in sooner than later. In a few years there should be hopeful be a handful of mega funds but may be room for niche funds too.
@JeremyKwongLaw Hey Jeremy - Lots of factors. Opp to better balance demographics. Funds paying out pensions need inflows from young members too. But then similar demos good for insurance. Also consider synergies from different investment approaches, advice, brand.
