@Ucfdk@SNYtv He has a pedigree, but he wasn’t handed a job like Benge or Ewing or even Baty. That’s my point. He had to fight for playing time. He’s not playing well. And he isn’t good with the media. But, I don’t think fans should be personally offended by his remarks.
@Ucfdk@SNYtv He never made BA’s top 100 list. The Mets didn’t create a spot on the major league roster for him or seem to imagine he was a big part of their future. He had to hit his way into playing time in 2024. After his first walkoff HR they sent him to the minors.
@PHXFansAZ Also, competitive balance is a smoke screen for corporate greed. MLB is a cartel run by billionaires. If you think they are motivated by competitive balance, I have a bridge to sell you.
@PHXFansAZ This is terrible logic. I’m not a Dodger fan, but they are playing by the rules and excelling. If the small market teams gang up on them in response, it is victim blaming to say that missed games are the fault of the Dodgers.
@nickbilton Have you no shame? You are presiding over the dismantling of an historic institution that has been a bulwark of democracy. You are aiding and abetting fascism. Disgraceful.
@PClearyJr@PSLToFlushing@Nutzypoo_ttv The big market teams are always in the minority. They are outnumbered by the small market teams. MLB is actually ruled by small market teams.
@AnthonyDiComo I’m surprised to hear you say that Tong is on a downward spiral. Leads MiLB in Ks. I haven’t read anyone else saying he’s losing prospect status. What’s your source?
@AMBS_Kernan@MetsUpdate Mr. Kernan, historically, nerd is a derogatory term to diminish people who are different from you. I think that’s how you are using the term. I believe that you are Christian. Please honor your faith by finding a different way to convey your opinion.
@PSLToFlushing Good take. Not about $, but flexibility. Soto and Nimmo in corners makes for a bad OF. A good CF can cover for 1 OF with limited range, but not two. Also, Mets won’t be afraid to cut Semien and eat his salary. Can’t do that with a fan favorite like Nimmo.
@DannyAbriano This is a very good analysis. The focus on run prevention and where people are playing are easy narratives, but they don’t explain much. The lineup without Soto looks very weak. Somehow this was missed by most baseball people.
@AnthonyDiComo I don’t think Vientos qualifies as out of position. He graded as a bad 3B last year. His best shot to be an everyday position player is 1B. He has displayed potential. Yes, he needs reps and that will come with mistakes. But, he’s not in the same category as Baty in RF.
