Can y'all NOT make it just one day and in like 5 theaters? This is crazy dude. Also theaters are fully packed, people CLEARLY want to watch this, basically throwing away money to not release this in more theaters and more times.
REMINDER: most of what you read about how to make it in the movie business is noise, even if it's good intentioned. Many are trying to sell you a course, some are trying to validate their own path, etc. The only truth is that nobody knows. & you have to keep writing.
AMC A-List is the greatest subscription ever created, like what do you mean I get to watch 16 movies a month in any format for $27 and walk into any AMC and watch anything I want right now
Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada spoke about the contradictions of human nature:
“Some people dream of having a swimming pool at home, while those who have one hardly ever use it. Those who have lost a loved one feel a profound sense of loss, while others often complain about their living relatives. Those without a partner long for one, while those who have one often don't appreciate it. The hungry would give anything for a meal, while the satiated complain about the taste of their food. Those without a car dream of owning one, while those who have a car are always looking for a better one.”
The key to happiness is gratitude: truly seeing and appreciating what we already have, and understanding that somewhere, someone would give anything for what we take for granted.
PRIMATE: too many recent horror movies have been about boring things like “trauma” or “loss” or “forgiving your parents” instead of fun, interesting things like “what if there was a rabid chimpanzee who wanted to rip your fucking face off”—at last, a film to right this wrong
The heartening thing about Christmas box office is the sheer variety of films that people are going to theaters to see. Comedy, scifi spectacle, adult drama, thriller, family animation, faith-based, etc. It's what an actually healthy theatrical ecosystem is supposed to look like.
With 2025 coming to a close we are now halfway through the 2020s. So I decided to make a little tribute, just for fun, to the films that have filled the first half of this decade.
All of you trying to make Amy Madigan happen for WEAPONS are whiffing on the horror performance you actually should be touting for a supporting nomination
It’s an amazingly acted moment but everyone on Twitter will try to pretend it’s not well acted because they think talent equates morality, as if there isn’t plenty of problematic/ignorant actors and musicians that are talented. We don’t need to lie lol
It’s sad — pathetic in truth — that so many younger people spend the majority of their time in front of screens instead of out creating real world experiences
This life is not meant to be lived holed up watching the world go by
Matt defending against all the odds that movies are important as the medical, it's true depiction that many of us do this, mentioning this in the episode was a bonus point to this series #TheStudio
