@espn700jeremy The Madrid area has something like 12 professional clubs including 5 playing in La Liga—all developing players for free.
There’s definitely a downside to how some countries run youth development https://t.co/BZ3FG84vYp
@royalriothayden Also he’s also a part time starter for one of the worst teams in MLS and hasn’t put up great numbers the past 2 seasons. But in their defense look who RSL brought in last year to replace Chicho and Gomez.🤦♂️
@MLSMoves It’s so dumb especially in a friendly. RSL’S Fabian Espindola broke his ankle doing one—on an offsides goal. Last month Zavier Gozo sprained his wrist doing one.
@ryanhammer09 He won’t be cap tied to AUS unless he actually gets in a WC game. If he doesn’t play, he could file a one time switch to Italy. But he’s never played for Italy’s senior team, wasn’t involved in qualifying games, and wouldn’t be on the roster if they had qualified.
@SouthseaBIue@herculezg Who’s more likely to not have a clue… you or the “ESPN reporter” who played professionally for decades, earned 24 caps for the USMNT, and played in the 2010 World Cup?
@rslrooster Too many 5s for getting a point on the road. Especially for the D that kept a clean sheet until stoppage and the mistake on the goal was Olatunge’s.
@ThomasMart31732@ManagerTactical Tell me you didn’t watch the 2016 World Cup without telling me didn’t watch the 2016 World Cup. I was there and Beckerman was a beast. Went 90 the first 3 games and Jurgen sitting him against Belgium prob hurt the team.
@Snakeysnakey7@DaxMcCarty11 Such a lazy take. Luna literally has the same # of caps as Arfsten and more than Tessman and Agyemang. And the dude has more heart than anyone. Literally played with a broken nose. Musah never got out of Poch’s doghouse last summer.
@WasatchSentinel No ability to possess or control the game in the 2nd. This same basic lineup (no Luna, no Morgan) was fantastic the first few games. What happened?
@texaszach37@SOTUWithAlexi@USMNT@stuholden Different positions. Hall’s a #9. Gozo plays right or left wing or wingback. Hall’s legit but also has interest in playing for Poland. I don’t think either makes the team this WC.
@ScottOmer13 Very unnecessary and instigated by Spiering's terrible turnover but also an incredibly soft call relative to a lot of the no calls--goes back to inconsistency on the part of the ref.
@jakehatch@PROreferees Terrible by @PROreferees. Makes zero sense that there's a no call on the Olatunji DOGSO and then the center calls one of the softest penalties I've ever seen for the Galaxy.
@BiH_Benjo@andyblarsen I thought we had the opposite problem. Nobody wanted to shoot. Too many times we just passed around in the final third until we lost possession. Only 4 shots on goal.
@jakehatch@PROreferees Shocking that VAR reviewed this play but didn’t overturn the call. Even in real time at the stadium it was clear Dreyer initiated the contact.
