“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse (gifts i.e. money, grants, loans) from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship". Alexander Fraser Tytler
@RandPaul 97% agree but Congress will do nothing to make it law or if they do it will only effect people named "ZE#$%^@%" from a country called 234234254 and if only they have an income over $3,333,333,333,333.33 will they be not eligible to collect federal benefits.
@Yellow_Dog1959 Why were they not vaccinated? Was it because of RFK or religious reasons? I will bet religious reasons but that doesn't help your narrative does it?
I say this every 4 years, and for the last 40+ years, and I'll say it again. Whoever the president in 2028 is going to be, they are going to be left a real shitshow.
The real problem, was and is, spending.
Unless Government cuts spending across the board drastically, get out of wars, entangled alliances, and become non-interventionist, nothing is ever going to change, and your kids/grandkids will inherit a even bigger shitshow. It's not like we don't know this, why aren't we demanding it?
Because they know, as long as they can divide Americans against each other, get us to fight with our friends, family, neighbors, etc.. we are not paying attention to the fact that both parties robbing us blind.
Now you know...
Where in the social contract does it state that you are due anything? Show me the money, lifestyle and travel guarantees in the Constitution or any other govt document.
The world is what you make of it. Don't like your station in life - change it - nobody is holding you back. You only have yourself to blame!

If you look at Social Security income vs expenses a valid argument can be made that income drops due to economic stresses, mid 1960's, late 1970s, early 1980s and Covid in the early 2020 - 2025.
There are two factors
1. economy slowing, slowing paychecks, less overtime, more layoffs = less money paid into SS.
2. with a slowing economy those on the cusp of retirement either retire or are downsized more easily than younger workers. During Covid many older workers saw retiring or dying of Covid as the only choices, many chose retirement as can be seen by the increase in OASI numbers. It is more people filing for SS.
The economy will eventually reverse the last several years in which expenses where higher than income and aging workers continue to stay in the workforce.

@C_3C_3 Realize there are buses that go around to each district and the people on those buses vote under multiple names in different districts. It is the oldest trick in the book and has been used for decades if not centuries.
They will pass the SAVE Act right before the election. Then state that there is not enough time to implement it before the next election in Nov. Then when the Dems take the House and Senate, they will repeal the SAVE Act or water it down so much that it does nothing. This is how things work in DC - GET WITH THE PROGRAM!
Bob Woodson had some interesting facts/theories on this subject. He was a prominent Black community activist, civil rights figure (who later became known as a leading voice in Black conservative/self-help approaches), and founder/president of the Woodson Center (originally the National Center for Neighborhood Enterprise or Center for Neighborhood Enterprise).
They can vote in state elections if states give them the right.
If you don't think there is any illegal voting, why fight the passing of the SAVE Act? If it won't change an election if passed - pass it! The problem is you know it will change elections, the number of illegals may be low but the number of people voting under other peoples names multiple times is huge!
Richy, name the entitlements you want to cut. If I paid into a system, say a pension, is that an entitlement?
I agree with Jim, route out all waste, then start to cut the benefits, Medicaid, Welfare, Section 8, SNAP to zero, then let's talk about Social Security. Oh, also add stop the US Govt from borrowing all the cash from Social Security
@DanielDiMartino When you cut welfare, SNAP, section 8 and all the other freebies, we can talk about Social Security. But you won't you are just hear to get clicks.
