@scott_tindle@spann I guess that would be relevant if they were being laid off because AI was ready to take over, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. We may have flying cars one day but we still have to pave the roads until then. AI still can’t handle a lot of very mundane tasks.
Having worked in a field scapegoated as “the enemy of the people” over the past nine years, I just wanted to welcome federal employees to the club. This is a fascinating podcast interviewing actual people losing their jobs via email. https://t.co/VaaisVGet3
@6thtimeisacharm That's what's called changing the subject. I wasn't addressing anything but the stupidity of punishing the AP because they didn't tell everyone to start using Gulf of America — for completely logical reasons.
Blocking the Associated Press from White House coverage because they didn't tell everyone to start calling the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America. Childish in the extreme. https://t.co/qDDmeReaCj
New from @robholbert: Today's story by Lagniappe reveals Gov. Ivey’s official calendar is unsurprisingly light. With a recent focus on Joe Biden’s decline and efforts to hide it, we found it relevant to look at what Ivey is — or isn’t — doing in office.

@joerogan Um, not even close. There’s so much disinformation, outright insanity and ignorance present on X, it renders the platform far less than on reliable. Most people on X are pushing an agenda. Actual journalists conduct interviews, make calls and review documents. Vastly different.
Well said @QuinHillyer!
I might also add the fact he oversaw the disastrous COVID shutdown of our economy - spurring the massive inflation he now runs against.
But you summed it up perfectly.

Millions depend on Alabama Power for electricity, but what’s less known is how many organizations rely on the utility’s charity to operate.
Auburn University, in particular, has proven over the long haul to be the power company’s favorite beneficiary.

The Mobile County GOP is having a debate watch party at a Mexican restaurant. There's something amusing about that, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
@QuinHillyer@WarOnDumb I think that's what's called a "backhanded compliment" Quin. I've never known you not to write what you believe, regardless of the circumstance. Excellent column, BTW.
@aldotcom@WarOnDumb Kyle, while you're looking at reports, check out the IRS 990s for the Mabel Amos Memorial Fund. Word is the Alabama Ethics Commission director's kids got $120,000 in tuition from that charitable trust, and — here's the kicker — HE sits on the board of that trust.
@WarOnDumb OK Kyle, if McDonald resigns, how many vacancies and expired members would that leave on the five-member Ethics Commission? Come on, you can say it. I know you can. Never mind. It's more fun to watch you tap dance around landmines to protect Albritton. Nice work.
@MattSimpson Is there any description of what constitutes a "friend" of the ethics director? Maybe that should be defined as well. Kyle, you have zero concerns about Albritton's tuition scandal? No problems with three of the five commission seats being either empty or expired?
@MattSimpson Matt, he also keeps leaving out Tom Albritton paying himself and friends from a charitable trust, as well as several other issues at the Ethics Com. All KW's dust on this is aimed at keeping Albritton safe from scrutiny. He's ignored it for almost three years.
@MattSimpson@WarOnDumb Whitmire refuses to write a word about Ethics director Tom Albritton funneling money to HIS friends from a charitable trust meant to give scholarships to needy students. https://t.co/zCGdkSdaaF is in full protection mode for Albritton. KW has ignored the story for 3 years.
