A Thread 🚨Since when did Siachen become a "lifestyle choice," https://t.co/iG7YKXyBbz
The "very biased" Indian Express is busy peddling a PAC report claiming 40% of retiring officers with disability "does not speak well" for Army fitness
Let’s talk about that "lifestyle’ ⬇️

Facts are misleading. Malacious intent of certain bureacrats and top brass of the army are clearly revealing against own armed forces officers.Truthful facts and causes are not being highlighted or revealed for petty gains...really shameful
Stop shaming our officers for the physical toll their service takes on their bodies.
The Indian Army doesn’t have a fitness problem. The critics have a spine problem.
I stand with the Indian Army. 🇮🇳

It’s hilarious that the only organization in this country that actually works is being lectured on "fitness" by people who wouldn't last ten minutes at 15,000 feet.
You aren't reporting on health; you're building a narrative against the bedrock of this country.
3) 🛑 Heart conditions aren't from "lack of gym time"—they are from a heart forced to live in permanent hyper-vigilance for 20 years so you can sleep.

2) 🛑 Ulcer bleeds aren't from "bad habits"—they are the result of sustained, high-altitude stress and adrenaline that would break a civilian in a week.

🚨In your world, a lifestyle disease is from sitting too long at a brunch. In the Indian Army, it’s the metabolic cost of courage. Just sharing a few so called ‘Life style’ diseases of the Indian Armed Forces.

#KeepDisabilityPensionTaxfree@nsitharaman Madam it is a sad that the amendment to sec 108 of Finance bill has been passed without tax exemption on disability pension to superannuated soldiers. This is contrary to the assurance given and one feels betrayed.
@paragsushma@nsitharaman#KeepDisabilityPensionTaxFree
Respected FM Ma’am please do not give false assurances when dealing with Soldiers, as it amounts to disrespecting the Sacrifice of those who gave the best years of their life serving the Country Selflessly in very difficult conditions.JAI HIND 🇮🇳
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant to visit Leh on March 28, and address the Army from the Base Camp.
It will be the first time a CJI will be visiting Leh and addressing the Army from the Base Camp.
CJI also to inaugurate the District Court buildings at Leh and Kargil.
🚨 OBFUSCATION OF REALITY: The Truth Behind Armed Forces Disability Pension Exemptions 🚨
In a recent Lok Sabha reply (Q. 3787), the Govt explained its reasoning for restricting Income Tax exemptions for military Disability Pensions.
🏛️ THE GOVT STAND:
The Government claims that because the previous Income Tax Law was repealed, the associated exemptions lapsed. Therefore, they argue that the current Finance Bill simply includes the exemption for Armed Forces Disability Pension "afresh" to maintain the old scope.
🛑 THE REALITY / COUNTER LOGIC:
This is a clear obfuscation of the facts. The "new" reference to this exemption is both misconceived and mischievous. Here is why:
▪️ DILUTION: It actively dilutes the previous provisions and protections that had been in place for our soldiers since 1922.
▪️ DISCRIMINATION: It unfairly discriminates against disabled personnel who showed the grit to CONTINUE SERVING despite suffering a disability attributable to their service.
▪️ RETROSPECTIVE PUNISHMENT: This sweeping change has a retrospective effect, financially hitting veterans who are already drawing IT-exempted disability pensions.
▪️ FALSE "MISUSE" NARRATIVE: A disability pension is only accorded IF the underlying disability is strictly ATTRIBUTABLE to military service. This is determined by stringent standards and multi-level medical and administrative approvals. Using "misuse" as an excuse (often pushed through propaganda) is a completely invalid reason to dilute a soldier’s rightful benefits.
Our disabled soldiers deserve their due, not retrospective cuts hidden behind legal jargon
