There are 217 @WNBA players in the league and now I’m speaking directly to all of you.
I’m astonished.
You play in a league and have a commissioner who cannot and will not define your gender and is embarrassing you in front of the entire world. Yet none of you have the BALLS to stand up for yourselves and say, “Enough is enough.”
And that’s the whole point. None of you have balls, and it needs to stay that way.
I guess biology is still pending committee approval.
They’re trying to figure out how to define a woman in a way that fits their nonsense agenda.
Deep down, I believe you don’t want a biological male entering your league and taking your minutes, your money, your endorsements, and your dignity.
Are you all really that afraid of cancel culture that you would rather sacrifice your morals, values, and principles for money?
If the #NBA commissioner came out tomorrow and said, “We cannot define what a man is,” there would be outrage and a protest among the players the next day.
Open your eyes. #WNBA
I’m not the enemy here.
The real threat to women’s sports is not the one asking the question.
It’s the silence of the women who refuse to answer it.
@ThoughtCrimes80 This is unenforceable. It's not only stupid (on their part) but something they'd never be able to collect on. *All* my photos' subjects will identify as plastic (or figments of my imagination). Idiots.
@CharlieWalsham_ I think it's worth you posting because people like me realize we're not alone -- and that's important in this age when the dumbest of us are also the loudest (and seem to be the majority ... when they really aren't even close). Common sense is never a waste.
This is something I work on (trying to quiet the anxious part of me) -- and I've lived what he's saying: 'practicing' for the worst often brings the worst; practicing for the best definitely brings the best.
Your brain cannot tell the difference between a disaster that is happening and one you are only rehearsing.
That’s why worst-case-scenario thinking isn’t “just being prepared.” It is building a brain that learns how to stay afraid.
Neuroplasticity means you don’t live with the brain you were born with. You live with the brain you keep building.
Spend enough time in the spiral and your amygdala stays online while your frontal lobes, the part that actually solves problems, go quiet. Cortisol rises. Sleep drops. The thing you’re trying to avoid becomes more likely, not less.
Two thousand years ago Paul already knew the move: don’t be anxious about anything, but in everything, with prayer and thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6-7).
Anxiety and gratitude turn opposite directions on the same volume knob. One goes up, the other goes down.
Next time the “what if this ends in disaster” thought shows up, try the other question: “What if it works out?”
Hit that follow button and we'll work together every day to connect neuroscience and scripture to help you thrive.
Save this for your next worst-case monent. Share it with someone whose brain is stuck in disaster mode.

Same! (But having access to all this beauty ... perhaps the horrible politics/leadership is the price we have to pay? Though I'd love it if CO became more moderate.)
It’s good for everyone that women’s rights proponents in the past changed laws such that women could own property, have their own bank accts, etc. That is what “feminism” means to me. The legal playing field was made even.
All the rest of this stuff where men are “bad,” and marriage and kids is some kind of prison, and subscribing to crazy ideas is not any type of feminism to me. It’s rather resentment, insecurity, and mental instability.
There’s no “either you become a devoted housewife and mother and eviscerate your personality and personal hopes and dreams” or “be single your whole life and never have kids and be a ‘boss girl’ and hammer your career.” Those are just silly reductions to some cartoon characters.
Of course you can marry and have children and hold very satisfying jobs and have a husband whom you love and support, as he loves and supports you. You can have children while pursuing things that professionally interest you. These things aren’t “sacrificing your freedom.” That’s silly. They are elements of life that enrich you. They are avenues of experience that bring you closer to a really full picture of who you are, for both the man and the woman.
Don’t believe people saying it’s got to be one way or the other. It’s just nonsense.
🚨Warning to progressives 🚨
If you believe cancel culture, enforced ideological conformity and the policing of dissent will never affect you because you hold the “right” opinions, think again.
Right now, you’re safely inside the tribe. You agree with most of its positions, so its intolerance of dissent doesn’t trouble you.
But the day will inevitably arrive when you discover that one or two of your opinions are no longer deemed to be “correct”. And you’ll discover your liberal friends are anything but liberal.
Modern progressivism increasingly insists on conformity of thought. There are certain things you cannot say, certain things you cannot question without risking blowback.
Every ideological movement eventually encounters people within its own ranks who draw the line somewhere. If your tribe cannot tolerate dissent, then the moment you draw yours, you go from being one of the righteous to one of the heretics: challenged, condemned, cast out.
Here’s the irony: many of the people progressives dismiss as intolerant right-wingers are far more open to discussing ideas.
I could walk into a room full of traditional conservatives and debate almost any subject. They might vehemently disagree with me, but I’d be allowed to make my argument.
Walk into a room full of progressives and express certain opinions? I doubt I’d even be allowed to finish speaking.
If you’re genuinely liberal-minded, that should concern you.
You don’t have to become right-wing. You don’t have to become conservative.
But modern progressivism is increasingly redolent of a cult: accept the rules, comply, conform, or be banished.
The question isn’t whether you agree with the tribe today. It’s what happens when, one day, you don’t.
The most politically homeless people today may actually be the most liberal.
Free speech.
Individual liberty.
Tolerance of disagreement.
Suspicion of concentrated power.
A willingness to question authority.
When did those become controversial values?
I don't care in the slightest if boys want to put on make up, take ballet classes and call themselves 'Susan.' If that's what makes them happy, fabulous. I don't want them harmed in any way. However, wearing a tutu and calling yourself Susan doesn't make you a girl and it is regressive in the extreme to say that it does.
Yes! Feelings are shifting sands; any one of us can discover that simply by considering any event in our life that *felt* one way when it happened and feels quite different now. The event didn't change ... sigh.
We live in a world now where what people *feel* matters more than what is *real*.
You might think that’s a trite statement, but think about it.
Politicians who, during the pandemic, would constantly refer to “the science” seem to have no regard for science whatsoever when it comes to other fashionable issues on the left.
In Britain, people can now get arrested for hurting other people’s feelings.
People talk about their “lived experience”, which is another way of saying their subjective feelings about events and experiences, which do not necessarily reflect reality.
When what we feel eclipses in value what is real, we are on a road to a destination that will be all too real.
Real harms. Real hurt. Real damage.
Ultimately, reality matters more than anyone’s feelings.
But to too many progressive thinkers, feelings are now the ultimate currency in which they trade.
I’m perfectly happy to treat anybody with courtesy and dignity. What I reject is the idea that courtesy requires me to surrender my own understanding of biology, language or reality. Tolerance is a two-way street.
@ZubyMusic I think oblivious -- we didn't have the internet for those weirdos to constantly put forth their bizarre ideas. But it's also true that certain bizarre ideas are more celebrated these days perhaps. :/
Not to mention, 'be kind' has also become congruous with 'don't offend' -- and guess what? Truth is pretty offensive sometimes (to anyone who doesn't want to hear it).
Somewhere along the way, “be kind” became an argument for not asking difficult questions. Then it was turned into a weapon to silence dissent.
Journalism cannot work like that.
Sometimes the kindest and bravest thing a journalist can do is ask the question everyone else is frightened to ask.
Let’s make this uncomfortable:
I respect women too much to pretend biological sex is just a label anyone can claim. I have nothing against transgender people living however they choose—that’s their business. But I will not be bullied into pretending biology doesn’t exist.
Women experience menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, and the lifelong biological realities of being female. Those experiences matter. Respecting someone’s identity does not require me to erase biological sex.
And yes, I STAND WITH SOPHIE CUNNINGHAM. She should be allowed to express her views without being bullied, threatened, or told she has no right to speak.
You can disagree with me. You can disagree with Sophie. But disagreement does not equal hate, and nobody gets to dictate what other people are allowed to believe.
If that makes people uncomfortable, so be it. 🔥
