@ltk2k2@_NotDisabled@LeoPettersson6 Yeah, young Crosby was special and there’s a reason youth players were looking up to him before he even made the league. But Bedard will probably still be an elite 1C eventually
@heemeeraa This book was all thoroughly researched so she could explain all the real things that happened in England with an ""alternate history"" magic system I felt like I was going insane reading it
@_NotDisabled@LeoPettersson6 Crosby was injured a LOT in his 20s and had a good career despite it. It’s still too early to say this guy won’t be crazy good in a few years
@Willtyc1@PredsNHL You can get lucky at 10. Ben Kindel at pick 11 played 77 games this year which surprised everyone. Hell, O’Reilly made the opening night roster as a second round pick. It’s not over!
karaoke bars should have an option for people who can't sing good to do recitations. reading Ozymandias or the Gettysburg Address or the USS Indianapolis speech with the little ball bouncing on the words
@uncledoomer This is the still operational clairton coke works. I wish they’d shut it down, it’s chronically out of line with emissions standards and gives thousands of Pittsburgh kids asthma lol
@souljagoyteller Asimov’s Foundation is a good, well, foundation. The Hyperion Cantos is good but books 1 and 2 are clearly better than 3 and 4 imo, Hyperion book 1 has some of my favorite world building in any scifi book ever. Dune is pretty dense compared to these two options
@SS_DCTransit@pitt_urban Construction is underway and funding is from the state, so it’s not super vulnerable to federal mood swings as I understand it
@501Broadway Defense is a problem, but the preds don’t seem like to set up the perimeter offense that drives up stats like offensive zone time. Lately it’s been neutral zone trapping into rush chances. Won’t work against everyone, but it could steal a series
@hatricklaine28 @BR_OpenIce The sale at the deadline may have made the preds better by clearing the plug vets out of the way for some young guys who can skate
uber surge pricing at 2am is just a tax on having had a good time. $47 for a 2 mile ride. the algorithm knows you’re vulnerable. capital bikeshare is $1 to unlock and never once has it dynamic priced me. the bike always respects me
@Tyler_Menzer@SlopHq This is broadly true especially if you have a long period of no assessment followed by a value “lurch.” Pittsburgh ran an LVT-lite for over 80 years, but after the state fired all their assessors and froze valuation changes for several years, they had to abandon it.
@yFactr@SlopHq Kinda sorta not really. Pennsylvania is a Georgist state so we actually have some data to talk about here, we don’t have to speculate. I’ll reply to this tweet with some links to papers if you want to read about it
