@_Unknown_D_ All bills wil be passed by parliament, not Burnham, every one in parliament was elected to represent there constituency
It's parliament that's sovereign, not one bloke - burnham will propose the bills - but a democracy elected chamber will vote them through or not
@_Unknown_D_ He's one 'new' vote in parliament
He's has 2 mandates:
1. To vote on behalf on the people of makerfeild
2. To make labour policy as labour leader
All other MPs have a mandate for there constituents and should vote there behalfs in parliament acording
@rationalhumanis But your 'sports entertainment' is lowest common denominator slop...
They tried yankie-fy football woth the super league, they had to do a u-turn due to black lash
It's nice you like your slop, but we definitely don't...
@Darrenwyn73@LeftieStats@Moreincommon_ You think they would form a coalition?
I think there's quite a big gap between them (even on this like imigration, let alone some of reforms more populist econ policy)
Can't see you getting mass deportations throught the parliament above tbh...
@GoodwinMJ The pension is the reason for that...
And we just saw a PM outted over taking £200 off of the most wealthy pensioners
So it is what it is, boomers love to vote so they get paradise, and the rest of us foot the bill
@joseph_gellman That
But also I do think this was some what of a vector, to justify the hatred they had for him form the get go, a lot of 'Conservatives' were sounding like chairman mao attacking this Conservative policy
@Liam_Holman99 I think the sad reality is every manifesto has to include the trebble lock if a party wants to actually win
Just have to start parliament on a 60 billion pound back foot
Old people vote young people don't - if you need proof voting makes a difference, this is it
@Dykeocletian Worst thing is they didn't fight in done Dunkirk, they got off their tits at the isle of white festival and retired on final salary pensions...
People turning pension age now grew up in the 60s, it's litterly the worse generation of old people, we owe them nothing
@TiceRichard Reforms hatred for how parliamentary democracy works should be a warning
They are telling us who they are, they attack our constitution on a daily basis (this is why they lead with the lie that we don't have one)
@6539X@MediaSOI We've don't elect PMs
the same would be true for whoever becomes PM after a GE
Just read an AI summary of parliamentary sovereignty, you might like it
@ZiaYusufUK Why don't patriots understand how of parliamentary system works
We need mandatory civics lessons till 18
You people might like the British way of life of you took any time to learn about it..
@Derek_of_Mercia@CutMyTaxUK@lancelachlan 1.5% is not a low property tax real, it's it's around 4k a year, and on average they'll pay about that again in consumption tax
So it come about about 2k lower than the US average, but it's higher than other states, and taxes is pretty unique when it comes to housing
