@VibesSedai Look man, if I have to choose between potable drinking water, and the ability to post a picture of my boss transformed into garfield with the caption "I hate mondays". I'm going with my boy garf all day. Life is fleeting, high art is forever.
@__abba__@low_dosage When a public school purchases something, it will service many many students for many years, generally. In this instance, this becomes personal property and will service just the purchasers kid(s) and they can always resell it at anytime for a tidy profit.
@DuvalMagic@galyonkin@grok Ok...and what was the gaming market then? How many households owned a console? Was it 10%, 20% maybe? More than half of all households own some sort of gaming device currently. I guess if you are cool with a 30 to 40% collapse, this is a good comparison.
@AJ_bear3@SnOOboard@mcafeenew@RedLivesMatterQ Yes. People are deeply, deeply, dumb as fuck. Some live in an completely separate reality with little chance of overcoming their delusions. We live in the saddest, and dumbest time. We could have been anything as a society and we chose to be painfully fucking stupid.
@saddymayo I'm generally on the zoomers/younger folks side on most grievances (I'm not even that old myself). It sucks out there, it really does. This might be the one issue I cannot empathize with though. You have enough eggs, honey and kraut leftover for many more meals.
@tekbog Marketing. Marketing is what they are doing here.
Besides, they need to make room for their new model: "Claude Space-time Annihilator" a model so powerful it can flatten arrays in JS incorrectly and usher the heat death of the universe on just 32GB of VRAM.
@contractorkeith You are still looking at $1900 to $2000/mo after taxes, insurance and PMI. Maybe less depending on property tax ( or more, this is really variable). You would still needs a 75-80k annual income for this. Not impossible, but not great either
@PunkyCovfefe You don't need 20% down, no, but with today's rates and home prices and adding in PMI, a 250k to 300k house (these are 1000sq or less starters in my area) you would be looking at 2000 to 2600/month. I dunno what rent looks like, but it doesn't math out for me currently.
@chasedownleads The real life hack is to just live in your car. No roommates, and you can door dash to your heart's content. It's like waking up in the office ready to go, everyday.
@King_Richard_43@Cryptoboyy_Aji What are you on about. Property taxes are typically 1-2% of assessed value. It isn't the tax that is going up 20%. It is the value of the asset. Housing has gone up an average of 40-50% in the last 5 years. The asset is worth more now. Congrats. Enjoy the free equity.
@gov_fails Wait...are you saying an edge technology being massively subsidized and actually costs ten to twenty times more to operate for worse results may not have been the final piece of the puzzle to finally turn all those peaky peasants into meat paste? We'll get them next time.
@smalls2672 Great. Tomorrow will come. She will sit for her unrecorded chat off the record. Say nothing and plead the 5th, and nothing will ever be done about any of this. The files that matter are gone. I guarantee it. We will never see them.
@ronrule Yea. There are so many ways to grift and gamble out there now. The gig economy is awesome and extremely stable. Who needs reliable full time work when you can just throw AI slop on the Internet for nickels?
