People can love a robot. But what happens when the company behind it disappears?
We explore what it takes to build a companion designed to last. 🤖 https://t.co/WDYFGPL8XW
.@agibot 2026 Innovation Day starts today in Shanghai.
Focused on deployment-ready humanoid robots. They’ve already put units in factories, stores, and hotels, and just hit their 20,000th robot.

Dozens of @BostonDynamics employees petitioned the company to cancel its sale of Spot robot dogs to ICE.
Dozens of workers argued the deal associates the company with an agency they say sows fear, and that it could hurt hiring and the company’s image. Boston Dynamics confirmed the petition but is standing by the sale to ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations unit.
The company says its terms prohibit weaponizing the robots or using them for harm or intimidation.

Yeah, this is the part that doesn’t sit right. Kickstarter has always let adults fund adult products, erotic art, and plenty of other things that aren’t “family friendly.” Drawing a special line at an AI companion that people can choose to use (or not) feels arbitrary. If someone wants to back a device that can sync with a partner or an AI, that should be their decision. The platform’s job is to facilitate the transaction, not decide what kinds of intimacy adults are allowed to explore.
.@PulsarMotion F1’s Kickstarter got suspended over AI companion rules.
@Kickstarter flagged the campaign for its restrictions on romantic/sexual AI companions and for the product being shown on their own site. Pledges were never charged. The team is now taking preorders directly on https://t.co/4jK59bx5CI at the same prices, with shipping expected late November 2026. They had 816 backers.

New paper: FLoRe teaches humanoids force-reactive loco-manipulation from robot-free demos.
Researchers collect demos with force-sensing handheld grippers and wearable trackers. A diffusion policy predicts both motions and per-hand force commands, which a whole-body controller tracks while keeping balance.
On a @UnitreeRobotics G1, it hit 80% success on contact-rich tasks versus 26.7% for a motion-only baseline.

.@XPENG_Global's solid-state batteries for the Iron humanoid have entered small-batch production.
The batteries are now coming off the line ahead of the robot itself, which is still pre-production. Xpeng still targets mass production of Iron by the end of 2026, with deployment in stores and other commercial settings starting in 2027.
The company has not clarified whether these are the previously announced all-solid-state cells or the semi-solid version reported earlier.

@NextChargeDE@Samsung I’d test coated steel, Vectran and UHMWPE in the same hand. After 100,000(!) loaded cycles, check for stretch, friction and wear, and see if it can still thread a screw.
.@Samsung is betting on five-fingered hands for its humanoid robot.
The company is developing cable-driven hands that more closely mimic human tendons and dexterity, aiming for better tool use in human environments. Samsung’s chairman is expected to inspect the precision manipulation demos soon. The approach contrasts with @BostonDynamics' four-finger Atlas design, while @LGUS and @Tesla_Optimus are also going with 10 fingers.
Hands are shaping up as one of the key battlegrounds for real-world humanoid usefulness.

@LGUS is prioritizing manufacturing and logistics robots before home humanoids.
On its Q3 earnings call, the company said it expects the humanoid market to open properly around 2030 and plans to expand into home humanoids then. It is working with Nvidia on simulation, world models, and robot platforms, and is building a data loop targeting roughly 500,000 hours of combined real and synthetic training data.
LG also said it will open its large robot data factory in Seoul in Q4.

Italian study finds 8.7% of young adults have sexted with AI.
Researchers at @SapienzaRoma and the University of Aosta Valley surveyed 378 people aged 18–35. Of the 33 who reported AI sexting, 75.8% were men. The behavior was linked to higher sexual sensation seeking and problematic porn use, but the authors stress it is still rare and not a new pathology.
The piece frames it as part of a broader shift: people are confiding in, flirting with, and seeking emotional support from chatbots that simulate reciprocity without having any.

.@AiMOGA_Robotics just opened global pre-orders for Mobo, its first consumer family companion humanoid.
The 0.9 m robot has 22 degrees of freedom, supports 20+ languages, and is aimed at kids (storytelling, learning, object recognition) and older family members (reminders, conversation). It uses a dual-brain “MoAgent” system with a world model, long-term memory tied to face ID, and can handle multiple tasks with sub-0.2-second interruption response.
AiMOGA says it has already sold over 3,000 robots across 60+ countries.

Dubai is targeting a 2032 launch for a 3.5-metre humanoid robot.
@AIAOrbis is developing what it claims would be the world’s tallest humanoid. The plan is for the robot to live inside a proposed “AIA Tower” AI destination, where it would greet visitors, deliver lectures, and interact using speech and face recognition. The company estimates a $150 million development cost and is still in the engineering stage.

Europe’s answer to China’s robot data boom is a “RoboGym” in #Munich.
@NEURARobotics (backed by @NVIDIARobotics, @amazon, and others) is running up to 100 humanoids and industrial robots 24/7 at a facility developed with the Technical University of Munich. The robots train on real factory tasks, picking parts, stacking boxes, handling fragile items, and share what they learn through a common cloud “brain.” Neura plans more gyms globally, including one already open in China.
The goal is to collect the real-world data physical AI needs, at a time when China is building far more of these training centers.

Chinese startup @westlake_robot showed its upgraded WR1 AI model running continuous household chores on a humanoid.
The robot took laundry off a drying line, adjusted for shifted clothes, folded items (with help from a second robot), then moved across the kitchen, living room, and bedroom: pulling corn from the fridge, placing it in an air fryer basket, collecting toys, and making the bed. All without mid-task human resets.
The company claims the updated model outperforms Figure AI’s Helix on some continuous control tasks. Success rates and real-home reliability are still unproven.

@simonmaselli Great point! Imagine how much we could learn by paying closer attention to what happens on factory floors every day. Capturing how tasks succeed, and where things go wrong, could help future robots become more capable and reliable.
.@Samsung Medical Center is putting humanoid robots into the operating room.
The hospital (part of a government ARPA-H-style project) has demonstrated two humanoid surgical assistants working alongside a surgeon. One acts as a scrub nurse, recognizing voice commands like “scalpel” and handing over instruments. The other assists with endoscope control and tissue retraction.
The goal is to ease South Korea’s medical staff shortage. Clinical trials are targeted for around 2029.
