@TheAgenda You’re right Steve—more and more is put on teachers WITHOUT ever taking anything away. Food prep and healthy eating is an easy one for parents to take ownership of. Time for some parents to step up and not expect schools to do it for them. Parent is also a verb!

@LoganKanapathi@fordnation And all in front of a camera! Wow! What a guy! Really???? Do it *without* the recognition Dougie, if you don’t want people to question your motives. Not impressed.

@rickmercer! Haven't seen one of these rants in a while.
Watch till the end. Just so you get the message. #ONpoli
@MacLeodLisa
Reminder as Lecce focuses on teacher prep times:
•K-3 *still isn't* capped at 20 pupils
•No class size changes have been made to K-8 due to COVID-19
•Ontario *still has* one of the highest re-opening class sizes in Canada. @Sflecce get your priorities straight. @ETFOPeel
Last week the 4 major education unions requested an immediate meeting with the Minister of Labour and reps from the Ministry of Ed because the plan for back to schools is flawed! There has been no response, it is radio silence. We will continue to push for a #SafeSeptember
@ontariomamma @Sflecce @ontariomamma teachers are still working, it's just that we would all get our "prep" at the same time--at the end of the day. I already come into school 90min+ early EVERY day and work at night--long before/after the school bell rings. But if you think we have it easy, join us.
@Sflecce You could be creative and have TVO offer 40-60min of learning content in Ontario history, First Nations, Black history, coding, financial literacy. I know I’m only a teacher, Mr. Lecce (“the enemy”), but I challenge you to stop the politics and blaming and make this work.
@Sflecce Ending the school day 40-50min early (for JK-8 kids) reduces teach contacts and keep kids safer. Worried about learning loss??? You obviously are not a trained Educator. They could:
* read at home
* review the day’s learning
* practise math facts
* work on a self-led project
@Sflecce@Billy__Pang Grade's 4-8 are "business as usual" Minister! No cohorting, regular class sizes, full rotary (3-5 teachers), <1m spacing, and contain higher risk kids (ages 10+). Will masks and some extra cleaning keep them safe? Time to make changes--BEFORE the first positive case!
@Travisdhanraj@Sflecce@Travisdhanraj, Grade 4-8 is "business as usual" (full rotary w/ 3+ teachers, no cohorting, normal class sizes, <1m spacing, etc.), with only some masks and cleaning to protect them??? Hold @Sflecce's feet to the fire!
@jasonprine@Travisdhanraj@Sflecce And as you say @jasonprine, this doesn't account for two-teacher families, supply teachers, rotary teachers that could teach up to 10 classes (in Elementary). Possible exposure quickly skyrockets into the thousands with current plan. :(
@MRPanetta11@fordnation@Sflecce Nope! Reporters need to ask about Gd4-8 specifically, as @Sflecce LOVES to reply how Gd1-3 have caps of 20. But J/I classes can be 30+. 😔
