When Illinois saved its nuclear plants it was characterized as a “bailout”.
Since passage, the “bailout” has returned $2.7 billion to ratepayers.

Season over
Cubs give up Jefferson Rojas and Mo Baller for 1.1 innings of meaningless relief and 1 PA from Tyrone Taylor. Jed and Carter and Craig deserve to lose their jobs.
Good: PCA is Griffey 2.0 and Steele/Cade/Ben all come back next year with huge payroll.
Bad: lockout leveraged against a Wrigley All Star weekend that will undoubtedly be used to ruin local, logical discourse around CBA news. So that’s going to suck balls
Good: we can now close the book on the most frustrating good Cubs team of our lives
The philosophy is flawed as well as the model. It was a bad year for Jed Hoyer. Too many whiffs: Maton, Harvey, Milner, Thielbar, Austin, Cabrera, Gausman, Holmes.
Craig Counsell:
Year 1: 10 GB of MIL
Year 2: 5 GB of MIL
Year 3: 14 GB of MIL
Just an unacceptable season. Can’t wait to hear the fancy talk at the press conference to summarize the year.
My issue with the Cubs is what it's been the duration of Jed's era.
Lineup is far too light in big moments. Not enough bats that can produce clutch hits, big HR.
Pitching Staff is built to play to the team's defensive ability and has very little swing/miss arms. So then Padres biggest bats bomb you in 3-4 swings and you can't hit a guy throwing 98 from them to respond.
Tucker Kraft on the fans booing: "That's pretty tough. Like everyone pictures Lambeau Field and not boos. I don't picture boos. I picture my home stadium. That's tough. It's pretty disappointing, especially for a home opener. It's pretty disappointing. It's not going to help us win. Like I don't know what people think that's going to rally us or something like that. But that's -- we're grown men. We're mentally strong enough, capable enough to get back on the field and play ball. But it'd probably much easier with the 70,000 people behind us rather than opposing us."
Jordan Love is 29-25-1 as an NFL starter.
1 playoff win
0 Division titles
0 CCG appearances
0 Super Bowl appearances
He's lucky he plays in Green Bay instead of a major media market.
New in PN: Retire in peace
"McConnell would never be allowed to drive a car, babysit young children, or file his own taxes. Why, then, should a cognitively incapacitated 82-year-old retain one of the most important positions of power within the national government?" https://t.co/XWataucoHy
People keep saying Trump term II is the most corrupt administration ever, so I built a model to find out if it was true.
I took the UN's definition of corruption, turned it into eight criteria and 100 points, and scored the leaders history remembers for looting their countries: Marcos, Suharto, Mobutu, Abacha, Obiang, Putin.
Then I put every president since Eisenhower on the same scale, both parties, with every exoneration counted right alongside the convictions.
Nixon scored 41 and no other American President scored over a 25.
Trump's second term scored a 91, which ties him with Suharto and Mobutu and puts him above Marcos and Abacha.
So he is not only the most corrupt president in American history. At this pace he finishes his term level with the most corrupt rulers of the last hundred years.
