Can there be a balanced techno-political vision embracing #AI, #IoT, #6G (as we can not go back) harnessed in an architecture that uses value and profits for all actors?
Yes.
My book describes the transition from basic automation to pervasive computing, ubiquitous computing, ambient intelligence, and the Internet of Things, and its effects on democratic decision-making and governance in Europe. It diagnoses a lack of political agency and technical capabilities in the West that has accelerated the end of the model of entrepreneurial government in favor of a new paradigm: Cyber-physical Systems. Offering an analysis of the digital transformation process in various industries and institutions, the book highlights the severe repercussions and impacts on democratic decision-making and the legitimacy of the Westphalian model of the nation-state. Readers will learn how the convergence of cloud systems, data platforms, and connected objects is facilitating this transformation process, one characterized by a virtual representation of every person, object, and machine – a digital twin.
The book argues for balancing centralization and decentralization in a cybernetic framework with human-centric values at its core. Further, it proposes a political framework that aims to develop a next-generation internet for the five hundred million citizens of Europe, one capable of enforcing and promoting digital hegemony while safeguarding the rights and proactive capabilities of said citizens. In closing, the book makes the case for a (6G) phone/hardware wallet built on European chip requirements and platforms and running on its own OS to promote technical European integration on infrastructure, applications, and services.
Given its scope, the book will appeal to policymakers and practitioners interested in European digital governance and autonomy, as well as scholars of public administration, public policy, and political science.

🦔GitHub Copilot switched to token-based billing this morning and users are already out of credits. Pro+ subscribers paying $39 a month are reporting 60% of their credits gone in two hours of normal use. One user lost 20% of their allowance from a single file review with no code changes. Another hit their monthly cap before the calendar even flipped to June.
Orgs with shared token pools have no way to see individual usage, so entire teams get cut off when one person runs a heavy prompt. Users are canceling and moving to Claude Code and Codex. GitHub community forums are on fire.
My Take
Flat-rate AI subscriptions were always subsidized. Everyone in the industry knew it. Today the subsidy ran out for a few million developers at once. The problem is a lot of companies already restructured around these tools. They cut headcount and told remaining engineers to lean on Copilot instead of building skills internally. Those companies now depend on a tool whose cost just became unpredictable and whose usefulness completely changes when you have to ration prompts to stay under budget.
The developers moving to Claude Code and Codex will hit the same wall eventually. Every AI provider faces the same unit economics. Anthropic filed its S-1 this morning, and the durability of its revenue depends on whether customers stick around once real pricing kicks in everywhere. If a $39 subscriber cancels after one day because the tool became unusable, multiply that across millions of seats and the churn risk becomes very real.
Today showed what happens when AI pricing meets reality. The companies that built their workflows around cheap tokens just discovered the tokens aren't cheap anymore and the people who knew how to do the work without them are already gone.

🇺🇸 A company that began with truck axles in 1911 is now one of the most critical bottlenecks in AI.
Data centers are the most power-hungry buildings on earth, and Eaton is the only one trusted to route that high-voltage power safely.
Their electrical orders have spiked more than 50% in the last year.
Everyone is watching NVIDIA. Nobody is watching the company making sure those chips don’t burn the building down.

Dr Elisabeth Potter, a plastic surgeon for cancer patients in Texas calls for healthcare reform in America
While in the middle of a surgery, UnitedHealthcare called the Operating Room and made her to exit surgery to justify an overnight stay for her patient
Dr Potter made a social social media video saying out insane this is and UnitedHealthcare threatened her
UnitedHealthcare sent her a 6-page legal letter from a defamation firm. It demanded she:
- Remove the posts and videos
- Issue a public apology
- Retract her statements claiming she lied
- They accused her posts of “fomenting violence” due to angry public comments against insurers
Dr. Potter is pushing for the Speak Free Act legislation to protect healthcare workers from retaliation when they speak out about systemic issues in patient care
We must DEMAND healthcare reform in this country. It’s only going to get worse because of big health insurance carriers
Stay calm, get well, relax, exercise, quit habits that you created as an antidote to the situation to escape. You no longer need them. We can get excited but not too excited. The shift towards collaboration is tuned to bringing better practices, but human suffering, notions and real acts of good and evil, miscommunication and misunderstanding will stay in any cycle.

🦔A German startup called MicroAGI is offering New Yorkers free home cleaning. The catch is the cleaners wear head-mounted cameras and record everything inside your home to train household robots. There's no way to delete your footage from the dataset, the terms require payment info upfront, and the company absolves itself of property damage, theft, or personal injury. MicroAGI calls data collection "the core of our business."
My Take
I posted about India's humanoid robot training workers making $0.12 an hour doing this same kind of work. MicroAGI pays $20 in New York, which sounds better until you think about what you're actually handing over. A startup with no track record gets a detailed spatial map of your home, footage of where you keep your valuables, how your space is laid out. You get a mopped floor. The anonymization promises are only as good as the company behind them, and these terms of service were written to protect MicroAGI, not you.
Same play Niantic ran with Pokemon Go. Get people to generate training data for free or close to it, package it, sell the AI product to enterprise clients. At least MicroAGI is honest that data collection is their whole business model. But a free cleaning in exchange for a permanent video record of your home is a trade most people wouldn't take if someone explained it to them in plain language.
