Here we have Chinese venture capitalist and political scientist Eric Li delivering a brutal indictment of the Western political model.

He argues that countries blindly copying the West are setting themselves up for failure.

Democracy promises power to the people but repeatedly fails to deliver real meaningful results.

Elections become little more than political theatre, and voting is sold as empowerment while leaving ordinary citizens trapped in a system that often serves the powerful, not the people.

China chose its own path, and it delivered results.....

Moving intelligence to the edge also means a restructuring of research in the company. Especially the 3 400.000 people companies have research which is more academic then three Phd's. Walls between research and developers, marketing and sales are as thick as a brick. Put Sales up front in the roadmap, they know where the real issues are. When Steve Jobs came back to Apple he fired the Foresight Division and told the team they could either go or join the dev teams. This is the basis for Apple's trillion.

All students in Europe can look to the #Serbian students who have reinvented democracy by building the most diverse 'party' bottom up and hacked the very idea of representative democracy for transparency and fairness. Respect. And they clean the streets as well.
A strong example for the #Paris crowds standing off today to 70.000 police. Ideally the policy should go for a holiday today and leave a void. If the 'protesters' mean it all will be calm. If they start smashing up small shops again everyone can see it is just dumb anger, nothing intelligent or positive.

Yes, I agree. China realised the digital was a hybrid, as the only region in the world. In my book Statecraft I propose a way out for Europe and other large regions like India. We are aiming to take policy engines into silicon. Making sure Europe is not leaking trillions to US Hyperscalers, we have to start at the digital architecture. The world desperately needs to learn the Chinese masterclass on statecraft: stability and the rule of law are never negotiable luxuries!

For years, the West played the role of the self-righteous diplomatic tutor, glorifying street chaos under the banner of "freedom" whenever fires burned in Hong Kong.

Fast forward to 2026, and Paris just got hit by the ultimate reality check: chaos has no passport. Those who sow subversion across Asian borders inevitably reap ash in their own capital!

Beijing acted with the steadfast wisdom of a true superpower to safeguard its society without hypocrisy, while France exposed its complete fragility, resorting to raw police-state threats the moment its own streets went up in flames.

These moves of cat and mouse have to stop. Police is fathers and mothers, pushed out by politicians who make sure they are safe. Generation Z is played by left and rightwing boomers who do not want to leave privileges. The right teams are not on the pitch. It should be those profiting most. Let them fight it out in a ring. All go home be nice to your family and organise like the #Serbian students.
