@kpac_15 Put a garden hose by their den and soak it with plenty of water. Skunks like their homes nice and dry. If their den gets constantly wet, they’ll move to a drier location.
Palliser Colony Schools - teachers playing around with marble-powered computers. Great device for teaching our students about computer coding with using technology.
@ChrisMattatall@ULethbridgeEdu @TeachingCentre @ULethEduGrad An engaging article. Thanks for posting. I am pondering on how to use a Connection Notebook in my situation. I was also thinking how deeply valuable a CN would be for university students if it was used across classes - interdisciplinary - rather than only in one class.
@ASkognes@mcbeatke Not quite true. Formal schooling ends at 15. However, if you’ve ever been on a colony and seen their innovation, you’d realize they don’t stop learning at 15. Formal education doesn’t automatically lead to critical thinking - otherwise ‘X’ would be a bastion of critical thinkers.
@cpeck3@mrdeclanregan This program is a very cludgy. It works well for larger school division, not so well for the smaller ones. It requires a commitment from school authorities that they are often reluctant to provide because it is easier to work out other solutions to find teacher for CTS courses.
@CrazyWomanFU@ianmiles Yes. But in Canada, you wouldn’t be allowed to keep the putters. They would be confiscated. So, you’d be out the $250 plus you’d have a criminal record - which would make it harder to find / keep a job or cross the border.
In my experience, we want to use peer-feedback as a learning strategy for our students. The challenge has been to help our students provide that feedback in a way that is effective for both the giver and recipient. This is an excellent guideline. Thanks @KatieNovakUDL
Peer feedback is most effective when it is focused and comes with clear guidelines. A choice board, like this one below helps to provide students with a sense of agency.

@iamDrWill @ELmagazine@leaders_black I respectfully disagree with you on this point. My own experience proved to me that when I took the time to determine if the push-back was resistance or something else, I discovered that it was often how I was approaching change. I found success in changing my approach.
Middle School Students at @PalliserSchools Colony Schools made these items for their Year-End project. Boys made cowboy chaps & clocks; girls sewed pillows for dog houses & ‘I Spy’ bags.
@DarrylChr Congratulations, Darryl. Wishing you all the best in your retirement.
May the fairways rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your greens.
@LethSchDivision Congratulations, @jamesaaronmoore! I see your daughter made the the list of finalists. So nice to see recognition for her amazing talent.
