"At this moment, you can say an everlasting 'Yes' to Jesus Christ. He can solve your problems, lift your burdens, quiet your heart and soul, and today you can know the peace that passes all understanding by letting Christ come into your heart." —Billy Graham
#OTD 2004 - Ken Griffey, Jr. hits his 500th career home run off Matt Morris at Busch Stadium.
It's Father Day, and Ken Griffey Sr. was in attendance to witness the historic home run.
(If you can't get a milestone achievement at home, get it in St Louis!)
Passive fathers avoid conflict.
Godly fathers resolve it. Passive fathers want to be liked. Godly fathers want to be respected. Passive fathers follow culture.
Godly fathers follow Christ.
Kids don't need another buddy.
They need a father.
Remember to thank your father tomorrow. Maybe even start today
“I’d rather hear my father pray than anybody in the world,” said Billy Graham.
Growing up on a dairy farm during the Great Depression, Billy watched his father, Frank Graham, face financial hardship, crop failures and uncertainty. But through every challenge, his father’s faith, joy and trust in God never wavered. His example taught Billy what it meant to work hard, find strength in the Lord and pray sincerely, bringing their family before God day after day.
“Every time my parents prayed for their sons and daughters, they were declaring their dependence on God for the wisdom and strength and courage to stay in control of life, no matter what the circumstances might bring. Beyond that, they prayed for their children, that they might come into the kingdom of God,” the evangelist wrote in his autobiography, “Just As I Am.”
The influence of a godly father can reach far beyond what he may ever see. This Father’s Day, we thank God for fathers whose example points the next generation to Christ.
Well-meaning believers and nonbelievers alike tend to emphasize God’s love and mercy above all His other perfections. As a result, they conclude that Heaven is the default destination of every person. But such is not the case. Jesus said in His Sermon on the Mount, “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it” (Matthew 7:13–14 NLT).
We go to Heaven because we make a choice to do so by putting our faith in Christ—and Christ alone. There is no other way to get to Heaven. No one is uniquely qualified to meet God’s righteous demands apart from Christ. No prophet, no guru, no religious system is going to do it. Jesus was fully God, and He was fully man. Thus He, and He alone, was able to stand in the gap for us and pay the price for our sins.
Whatever you're facing today, God is still trustworthy.
Not just when life is easy.
Not just when the outcome is clear.
Not just when the prayers are answered.
Even here. Even now.

Chris Nikic, the first person with Down syndrome to complete an Ironman, completes Ironman 70.3 Massachusetts.
Shortly before the race, Nikic announced that he needed a guide to run alongside him for the race.
That's when Dr. Tommy Martin decided to step up.
"I learned more in this race than almost any other I have competed in, and none of it was about race tactics or how to PR. It was about life, perspective, determination, and grit. I owe all of that to Chris," Martin said.
"I hope every finish line Chris crosses serves as a reminder to the world: your diagnosis, your situation, your circumstances do not define your potential!"
Congrats, Chris!

A reminder for anyone in a season of waiting:
God's delays are not God's absence.
Keep trusting.
Keep praying.
Keep hoping.

"God takes the weak and makes them strong. He takes the vile and makes them clean. He takes the worthless and makes them worthwhile. He takes the sinful and makes them sinless." —Billy Graham
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
~ Isaiah 6:8
Tonight, we Americans remember the brave men and women who answered that same call. I wore this scripture on a chain around my neck for 20 years.
They heard the voice of duty — of God and country — and said, “Send me.” They left homes, families, and futures behind to defend liberty on distant battlefields.
Some never returned. Their sacrifice was total. Their “Here am I” became eternal.
Today we honor their courage, their faith, and the freedom they secured for us. We owe them a debt we can never fully repay — only remember and live worthy of.
To every Gold Star family, every veteran who carried the weight: Thank you.
May we never forget those who said “Send me”… and meant it with their lives.🙏✝️
Goodnight, ya’ll.
