@SeattleWXGuy@CliffMass honestly, I think the people that come to twitter to follow and read cliff mass are likely not gonna see your tweet and suddenly change their minds. As Neil Young sang, “There’s nothing like a friend who can tell you you’re just pissin’ in the wind.” 1/2
@SeattleWXGuy@CliffMass That's what you took from my post? I started off by saying I watch you consistently and love your channel. Just trying to flag for you that Cliff spends too much time in your head. I might not even see his posts if it wasn't for you constantly replying to him.
@SeattleWXGuy@CliffMass Michael, love your channel and watch consistently. This persistent twitter replying makes it look like Cliff lives rent-free in your mind. 😔 Block him and move on!
@garrytan@sarthakgh Not sure if this is dishonest or just oblivious. Most leftists I know don’t talk or think about any of those things. They worry about resource allocation (build homes or build datacenters?), environmental impact, and loss of human significance/contribution.
@j_smith1968@PNWConservative “Progressive” does not mean more taxes. It means a system in which the tax rate scales with income (or wealth, etc.). The idea of a progressive taxation system is to reduce income inequality.
@jeffwilcox I took the 1 like from SEA down to Federal Way the other day. It was super slow until Star Lake (I think) and then sped up to 50+ mph along the final stretch. I really don’t get why it couldn’t get up to those speeds earlier in the ride.
@SeattleWXGuy Such a coincidence to see this. I was on this flight yesterday and another passenger asked me to close my window. I was a little annoyed, but mostly because it wasn’t night time so why the heck is the preference for the plane to be dark?
@sam_rosenfeld "At an internal all-hands... NSF leaders announced that they would dissolve the ... directorate based on the budget request, according to two NSF staff members who shared information anonymously in order to speak freely." I'd wait to see more (non-anon) verification on this.
@LocasaleLab@maxdkozlov I’ve seen many on X/reddit claim that “something is broken…” as if they’re writing a suspense novel. But the reality is that many companies and labs have suffered, and there have been life-changing impacts like job losses, due to these “non-story” delays.
@LocasaleLab@maxdkozlov I mostly agree with your point, but I disagree about it being a “non-story.” Anyone really paying attention has known that NIH would eventually be fully funded once Congress signaled their rejection for cuts. And the delays, while serious, were explainable (shutdown, OMB). 1/2
@S_Corcoran@NCIDirector@theNCI There is also a significant delay this year, w/ spending likely to start in earnest in April. This is 4 months earlier than last year. but still not normal. So, it seems very likely NIH will spend more than FY25 and it’s possible, though challenging, for spending to match FY24.
@S_Corcoran@NCIDirector@theNCI If you look at annual spending habits, especially the chart shared by Nature last month, NIH spending is usually very consistent & evenly dispersed throughout November - October prior to an annual reset. The delay last year was massive & led to a large spending reduction, 1/2
