Just took my 93-year old Gran to vote.
As she entered the booth she shouted "Here's to making sure the Tories are destroyed and Putin's friends at Reform are put back in their box".
The whole room burst into applause and cheered us out of the room.
A Labour Government would champion creative expression in all its forms, including classical and orchestral music.
We should be brimming with pride at the quality of our musicians, orchestras and composers, not shying away.

Last night I had the job of singing excerpts of a new opera ‘Orchard Street’ by Emma Butterworth, telling part of the brutal story of the life of a man from Kumasi taken from his family and enslaved.
Musicians and performers at English National Opera will take strike action next month in a dispute over planned cuts to the workforce.
Members from both @WeAreTheMU and @equityuk voted for the industrial action.

I hope the industry will continue to recover (lost) ground at all levels, but it won’t happen without unilateral support from all within and of course our cheer leaders behind the scenes…
Great News for English National Opera press for a change, albeit the details for us full timers are tbc.
Ours is a significant victory in what feels like a battle, but the war against the industry is far from over…
