NEWS: Drivers using Full Self-Driving had 8x fewer major collisions than the US average, Tesla says
Cars with FSD (Supervised) engaged logged 0.19 major incidents per million miles. The US average is 1.51.
Minor collisions fell 7x. Off-highway collisions fell 6x.
Tesla compares its 2025 fleet data to the latest federal crash figures. Those come from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Federal Highway Administration, dated 2024.
The system learns from roughly 9 million vehicles that have driven over 11 billion miles. It processes more than 1 million pixels of visual data every millisecond.
Tesla also reports 6.6 vehicle fires per billion miles driven. The US fleet average is 54.0.
FSD (Supervised) still requires an attentive driver. Tesla says plainly that it does not make the vehicle autonomous.

The target covers every stage. Suppliers, manufacturing, product use and end of life.
Tesla also plans to move its operations to 100% renewable electricity well before 2040.
Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg already runs on 100% renewable electricity, a third straight year.
Tesla says many emissions stay hard to abate. It names steel and battery materials specifically.
