@RealDanODowd A robotaxi has 3 degrees of freedom on a 2D plane and Tesla still can't make it work. Somehow Optimus with ~50 DoF operating in full 3D space will be functional and performing useful tasks next year. Sure.
@EvanDownUnder@tabney@niccruzpatane@grok But, that could easily be a rationalization. What is it about the cars that make the drivers crash? It could be the console screen. But, really does it matter? Driving a Tesla somehow makes people crash and die more than in other cars. That’s the bottom line.
@EvanDownUnder@tabney@niccruzpatane@grok Yes, the article speculates that is the reason. But, the fact still exists that Tesla cars kill more people than any other car. And, that kind of negates all the safety ratings. That is my opinion only though.
@ell30433@SawyerMerritt Attack the messenger not the message. Good tactic. I’d argue more about this but my mom just warmed up my meatloaf. You are so lucky. Seriously though, address the issue. Don’t compare me to Elon. That’s dumb.
@DiggTT@SawyerMerritt So the glare issue, that Elon said with authority and confidence, was already solved is still an issue. And it makes him a good leader that they patented a new method that (you have no idea if it actually works) is going to solve an issue that he lied about????
@EvanDownUnder@tabney@niccruzpatane@grok That information is readily available. The compile statistics on it. And for each model of Tesla. The fact that you suddenly “forgot” how to verify that information is a telling.
@EvanDownUnder@niccruzpatane@grok Just ask any AI. It’s well established that Teslas kill their drivers and occupants more than any other car. By a significant margin. Don’t take my word for it. Look into the data. Do not trust me bro. Find out for yourself.
@DaveHcontrarian@jeffchandler55 @bondlovescold The yield curve uninverted August 2024. Every uninversion has led to a crash in the market within 18 months. It's been 14 months. This time is different?
@DaveHcontrarian Asking good questions is how one can begin to gain knowledge. I was trying to open up the dialogue here beyond "Dave, what is your target for gold? The market went down today, please reassure me." You don't always have to be condescending and dismissive.
@DaveHcontrarian What are the keys to being confident yet remaining humble with a macro thesis? (Confident = not shaken by the noise and humble = willing to change if necessary.)
@DaveHcontrarian@westerbeke@AntiFiatLife Gold seems to mostly go in the opposite direction of the "trust in the system" sentiment. If trust is high, gold goes down. If trust is low, for whatever reason (inflation, deflation, threat of war) it goes up.
@DaveHcontrarian In the GFC, blue chips like KO and JNJ fell ~35% while the market dropped ~50%. If we see an 80% decline this time, what kind of drawdown would you expect in those defensive names?
