I'm probably going to get crushed for asking this...
But what should the Buccaneers do with Baker Mayfield this offseason?
Mayfield's contract ends after the 2026 season and it seems likely that he'll want $55M+ a year.
He's a lot of fun, but he's benefited a lot from being in a bad division during his time in TB.
@JeffDLowe Perfect mix of a generational athlete taking advantage of the rules of the event and financially incentivizing it. Also exciting bc at least in high jump there’s conceivably a limit to how high humans jump. In vault you adapt to a longer pole - who knows how much higher he can go
@JeffDLowe Worth noting for those that aren’t familiar with T&F: at the end of a pole vault or high jump competition, if the winner hasn’t fouled out, they can dictate exactly what height they want to make their next attempt at. This situation is unique to those two events
@GrandSlamTrack Are all Racers able to change divisions at any time, like Syd switching to Short Hurdles for this past slam? And do they keep those points across all divisions? Could there foreseeably be an advantage to switching divisions to earn more points, or would there be a limit to that?
I did some basic calculations and he generated about 1.8MM in earned media value for Saratoga. That’s not including reposts, screen grabs, all the parodies, and other organic posts.
He gave Saratoga a full digital media campaign for free. Creators gotta stop doing that.
