Currently an urgent search is underway as authorities report that 40 to 43 rhesus monkeys escaped from a research bio-lab facility in the Yemassee area of South Carolina on Wednesday evening. Officials from the Yemassee Police Department confirmed that the monkeys escaped from the Alpha Genesis Primate bio lab Research Center. Traps have been set up in the area, and police are using thermal imaging cameras to help locate the animals. Authorities are advising residents to keep doors and windows closed, avoid approaching the monkeys, and call 911 immediately if they see any of the escaped animals, as this could pose a public health concern.

The first real constitutional crisis our country faced was the election of 1800. Just 11 years after the constitution was ratified.

our government was originally designed to prop up an aristocracy. looking at James Madison notes from the constitutional convention, there was a lot of friction and arguments, but the one defining tone for all parties is that it was decidedly elitist. It was an 83 year old Ben Franklin who had to remind everyone that it was the american ppl who won the war.

The big conflict about the election of 1800 was that the federalist were upset about how Thomas Jefferson wanted to change how the government was run and bring more ppl into the political process. As the federalist were complete elitist. There were beliefs among many Founding Fathers that only certain individuals possessed the requisite wisdom and education to govern effectively. Which were wealthy white men.

To give you an idea how inclusive voting rights were, there were only roughly 50k voters in a population of about 4 million.

James Madison designed our government so it would protect the minority. But not in the sense we think of today (vulnerable populations) but them. The wealthy. Who were the minority. The Senate worked as a check on the house to be able to stop any kind of populist movement that might arise. This is why senators were appointed originally by state legislature and not voted in.

So, the election of 1800 was pivotal because it signified a shift in the political landscape. Thomas Jefferson’s Democratic-Republicans advocated for more inclusive policies that appealed to broader sections of society, contrasting sharply with the Federalists. The Federalists, under figures like John Adams, were inclined toward maintaining a strong, centralized government, which they believed was necessary to sustain order and stability. That's why Adams passed things like The Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 that were laws that allowed Adams to jail his critics and deport immigrants who supported Jefferson. These actions by the Federalists backfired, resulting in significant backlash and contributing to Jefferson’s success in the election.

By the time Jefferson left office, ppl voting in this country expanded from 50k to over 100k.

Whenever you hear the right, say they are originalist, and they want to go back to the founding. This is what they mean. Republicans only represent a ruling class.

Elon has to bet everything on a Trump victory.
Pretty certain his checks are violative of the law.
Musk knows if his bet pays off and Trump wins he will be pardoned and given a cabinet level position.
Trump loses he writes a check or two for penalty.
Trump has emboldened billionaires to ignore morality and legality.
It's just a fun insider game.
The Trump/Musk affiliation is a clear and present danger to American freedoms.
