Remember when Premier Ford removed all speed cameras? Well, theres been a record spike in speeding, collisions and DEATHS since!
If this isn't yet another example of social murder, I do not know what is. Premier, your policy has killed people! What have you told their families?
We are outraged to learn that Canada has denied entry to officials from the Palestine Football Association ahead of FIFA pre-World Cup meetings in Vancouver. This is despite Canada’s host role and its recognition of the State of Palestine. Canada must reverse this arbitrary and discriminatory ban. https://t.co/VAUk6CXVBV
Elected TDSB trustees were informed around 11pm on June 30 that they could no longer send newsletters to their constituents through TDSB. I had sent out a newsletter just before on June 28 on supervision that you can access here: https://t.co/PKK6doLUBC
@MaritStiles@ZohranKMamdani Shame on you. The NDP requires significant reform to actually be the progressive party that supports candidates aligned with someone like Zohran. I will never forget what you did to my friend @SarahJama_ who you kicked out of the party. You should resign.
Today, attended a vigil and protest to commemorate the Ontario Science Centre alongside @OPSEU at Queen's Park.
The decision to abruptly close the Ontario Science Centre is another example of failure to adequately invest in public infrastructure. Ford must reverse this closure!
PLAYING GAMES: In the great tradition of strike publications, we offer our tech-worker version.

Now you can play and not be a scab. We also want to thank the multitude of @nytimes subscribers who have stopped playing and honored our digital picket line.
12 Ontario Mayors are formally requesting that @fordnation invoke the notwithstanding clause to suspend encampment residents' Charter-protected rights so that they can be removed from encampments. The letter cites the Grants Pass Supreme Court decision in the U.S., which allows local governments to criminalize unhoused people in lieu of building housing and shelter, or offering services. It's Draconian and represents an abdication of government responsibility for the welfare of homeless people.
This letter comes a day after @fordnation told @ONBigCityMayors to "have the backbone" to formally ask him to use the notwithstanding clause.
Ford has invoked the clause three times, twice successfully to both force back-to-work legislation and to limit criticism of his government through third-party advertising. With the Mayors of Barrie, Brampton, Brantford, Cambridge, Chatham-Kent, Clarington, Oakville, Oshawa, Pickering, St. Catherines, Sudbury, and Windsor taking responsibility for the ask, Ford could very well table legislation that invokes the notwithstanding clause to evict encampments, without municipalities needing to offer resources like shelter.
Even if you don't care about homeless people, you should be greatly alarmed that entire demographic groups are being targeted to have their Charter rights removed. Who's next?
Premier, please don't waste taxpayers hard earned money. @SaveOSC Our Ontario Science Centre already has a home. Repair it and restore it. Leave it in community where it's accessible for all. #onpoli
Shocking to hear the Finance Minister failed to consider the $225M price tag to accelerate beer & wine into corner stores. Millions of taxpayer dollars at the expense of ON’s healthcare, education system & infrastructure. This is the definition of fiscal irresponsibility. #onpoli
@robertbenzie I don't know that I would characterize cancelling a contract as fulfilling a promise. This was going to happen at the end of the terms set out in the Master Framework Agreement which the previous government put in place. Ford did nothing but rush this at a huge financial cost.
@tpcanoe Well, when we found the same in our house we kept it and had it refinished. Big mistake. Within a year we discovered many soft spots which explained why it was covered up in the first place.
