@OrinKerr@aden_barton I was a teaching fellow for two classes at Harvard College when I was at HLS. One was taught by an amazing visitor from Dartmouth. He enforced a strict curve. The other was taught by a Harvard prof. He informed us TFs that an A is the default grade. A- would require justification
Every so often I'll see a tweet questioning why academia focuses so heavily on research, given that it's often so arcane and seemingly useless. In the particulars, sure. In aggregate, many studies have shown that it powers innovation and growth that benefits society.
