Kyiv has once again endured a night in which russia struck residential buildings and people sleeping in their homes. Across Ukraine, the enemy launched dozens of missiles, including ballistic missiles, and hundreds of attack drones.

As of this morning, at least 11 people are known to have been killed. In the Podilskyi district, the upper floors of a nine-storey residential building were destroyed, while fires and search-and-rescue operations continue at other sites.

I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed. I wish all those injured a swift recovery.

I thank the rescuers, medical workers, police officers, and everyone who saved lives throughout the night and continues working at the sites of the strikes.

The scale of this attack is yet another proof that russia is deliberately waging war against Ukrainians. That is why Ukraine needs decisions capable of protecting our skies from ballistic missiles, strengthening our air defence, and depriving the aggressor of the ability to continue its terror.
