Nancy, let me be crystal clear: what you’re proposing is unconstitutional as hell.
The First Amendment doesn’t disappear because you don’t like someone’s opinion. Teachers and professors don’t lose their free speech rights just because they cash a paycheck from a public school. Punishing schools because an employee said something you don’t like about Charlie Kirk isn’t “protecting kids.” It’s government retaliation. It’s fascist garbage.
This isn’t patriotism. This is a loyalty test straight out of the First Reich. You’re literally threatening to strip schools of federal funding — hurting students — just because you can’t handle somebody’s speech. That’s not protecting America. That’s the exact kind of authoritarian bullshit our Constitution was written to stop.
And let’s be real: you don’t give a damn about “hate” or “extremism.” You just want to silence people who criticize your movement while you platform bigots and extremists every damn day. You’re fine with hate when it votes for you.
We don’t fire free speech in America, Nancy. We defend it — even when it makes us uncomfortable. That’s the deal. If you can’t handle that, maybe the problem isn’t our schools. Maybe the problem is you.
The interesting contrast here is that Obama used the story of his African father to bolster a narrative about individual meaning and success, while Mamdani uses the story of his African father to bolster a narrative about collective struggle, solidarity, and progress.
He walked the length of Manhattan last night & is in church this morning. You need an indefatigable energy to run a country (which, let’s face it, NYC is). It’s not only about age (Bernie has it). It’s about passionate ideas fueling you. Mamdani & Lander have it. Cuomo does not.
Javiera Montero was detained for 8 hours before NYPD was forced to admit she committed no crimes and was just vacationing in New York.
Please share her story.
The last time we saw evil on this scale, dozens of nations moved heaven and earth to stop it.
Now, we fund its continuation.
We arm and fête the monsters responsible.
We excuse their atrocities and indulge their crocodile tears.
We blacklist and jail and deport those who object.
