Real gut-punch? Swapped my Logitech bus mouse for a Microsoft Serial Mouse on COM1 (eBay). Found the SMCs in the garden shed (doorstops).

Linus Torvalds says huge Linux kernel updates are becoming the “new normal,” partly because of AI tools.

The upcoming Linux 7.2 release is unusually big, with Torvalds admitting he’s not exactly happy about how large it has gotten.

He says AI tools are now being used more during development and code reviews, which has contributed to the growing number of changes going into the kernel.

Despite the size of the update, Torvalds doesn’t see anything particularly worrying in it and expects Linux 7.2 to move forward as planned.
