I feel like during the recruiting process players and parents feel this immense pressure to score points bc they know that the more points they score the better chance they have to be seen.

Scoring will increase your chance of being seen/talked about. That is a fact. But how you go about it will ultimately decide your future. Sadly, too many players and parents are pushing the scoring aspect and it makes the player play selfish basketball. If you out scoring ahead of winning and doing the things necessary to win (guarding, passing, rebounding, etc.), it doesn’t matter how many points you score.
Selfish players eventually end up on selfish teams or sitting the bench on good teams.

Lock in, play the right way, play hard, score the crap out of it, and you’ll be good.
