I'm not running for office. But if I were, these are some of the lessons I'd take away from what happened in NY yesterday.
1. Authenticity is measurable. Voters can smell a focus group from a mile away.
2. Endorsements from the current Democratic leadership now read like warnings. The establishment wing of the party is no longer a sword. It's a question mark.
3. Conviction beats caution. The candidates who said hard things about rent, about who pays for what, about Gaza, they won. The triangulators lost.
4. Cost of living is everything. Everything else is wallpaper.
5. The middle is not a strategy. It's an empty room. Voters reached past the establishment to grab someone who actually believes something.
6. Don't fear the base. Court it. The Democrats who ran from their own voters lost. The ones who ran toward them won.
7. If you want to lead a party you have to be willing to fight inside it. Mamdani didn't ask permission. He took the field.
The lesson under the lessons: the country is tired of being managed. People want to be led.
god that’s so fucking depressing man. one of histories greatest advancements for communication and knowledge and this is what we made of it. absolutely just disappointing
If you think this is "funny" or "cool" you are an antisocial nihilist. You are the problem. Did the elephants not consider using the legal system to hold bad actors to account instead of just murdering this guy?
They love to act like backing a genocide is some niche side issue and not the defining characteristic of someone’s politics that makes or breaks their ethical credibility on every other issue
Voters: We want Universal Healthcare
Democrats: Okay we'll do that
Healthcare Lobby: If you do that, the $20 -
$70 million we give you is cut off
Democrats: Whoah, we need that money. How about we allow most of the party to vote yes, but we get at least 3 dems to vote no so that it will fail, this way the heat is on those 3 democrats instead of the whole party. This way the party looks like we want to give it to the people, but we cant because those 3 Democrats stopped it.
In 1921, 10,000 aggrieved coal miners in West Virginia wanted more pay and attempted to unionize. The owners sent in 3000 armed goons and the law to put down the insurrection. The ensuing Battle of Blair Mountain killed dozens of Americans and only ceased when 30,000 US soldiers arrived. It was the bloodiest battle in America since the Civil War. All because folks wanted a living wage.
You have to stop assuming he’s trying to do a good job. The current administration is not interested in governing. They are only worried about extracting as much wealth as possible and insulating themselves from the consequences
Before the false flag, ask yourself: why would Iran do this? They've the majority of the US & global public on their side, this USraeli war of aggression is deeply unpopular. Why would they turn people against their completely justified resistance against an illegal war by carrying out a terrorist attack?
Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s network can be considered one of the most successful state intelligence operations in history at this point. They managed to make the sole global superpower self immolate for the sake of Israeli expansionism
