As an economist I was hesitant reading this book. But was pleasantly surprised. For a sweeping & accurate history of economics, from ancient Greece to contemporary times—George Akerlof, Joseph Stiglitz, Amartya Sen, all in less than 250 pages, it turned out to be a page turner.

This tome of a book is excellent. I've always liked Stiglitz, but wished his books did more academic deep dives. This book does that, presenting the current research on inequality, as well as the corresponding models plus variations. Highly recommend.

I had a few people ask about Marxist accounts of class power shaping technology, this is a very interesting book I started recently looking at the adoption of steam instead of water power based on class analysis. Definitely recommend.
