@KilclooneyJohn@IrelandsFuture Polls vary. Can't fight demographics. Lots of undecideds & staunch unionists aren't undecided re the Union. Plus there's no plan yet so how could people commit to Unity without knowing exactly what Unity means in a practical sense.
@AnNbsym@IrelandsFuture Polls vary, plus there's a huge amount of undecideds and staunch unionists are not decided re the Union. Plus there's no plan yet so how are people supposed to commit to Unity without knowing what Unity means in practical terms
@MakeNifree@IrishUnity The Troubles & Irish Independence before that. You're never going to get people to stop talking/singing about that & it's fine with context. The British Army, Loyalists do it too. The worst Sectarian songs should go & with proper context the rest is history & can't be ignored.
@JackieUlsterMan @IrishUnity I would say look at the past. Plus if you want a United Ireland, being in the EU is essential. No way would the North vote for Unity if it didn't come with EU membership
@MakeNifree@IrishUnity Lots of people who support Irish reunification don't glorify terrorism, I would imagine it's the same re lots of unionists re the Union. Those extreme paramilitaries in both sides are just criminals now with a gang culture. The Troubles are over.
@JackieUlsterMan @IrishUnity Yeah so my point is that both the EU and US saved the GFA & to be fair the Irish Government were on the ball also. Point is though, out of the EU it would be inevitable that Ireland would become subservient to GB again, due to its geographical location & the history
@MakeNifree@IrishUnity People change. That doesn't make them fake. What's the point of having a mind if you can't change it? For the island to heal we have to reconcile and learn how to share and live together.
