1. Independent candidacy
2. Diaspora voting
3. Election broken down into days, region by region to enable security personnel cover ground.
These are the things our current electoral system needs if we’re being serious
Peter Obi is a simple man.
The things he is saying at the OBIdient convention are powerful.
Again, this is the first recognized political movement without a party that is holding a convention.
The OBIdient movement is powerful.
@amplejohnny@Retrogodammed Smh. Fine, Sir Lead Senior Project Manager, let’s add another £5m for logistics. We’re at £15m now. Still not enough for a developing nation?
Long Walk to Freedom, One Love, Malcolm X, Ali, etc.
For far too long, I’ve been waiting for someone to embark on the journey of bringing Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s story to the big screen.
Our renowned @kemiadetiba, please do this for us. 🤲🏼
@talayojames@Bond_not_james When thieves and badly behaved individuals are rewarded, and hard work or patriotism is given no value, there is no miracle that will suddenly make citizens behave rightly. Even with a deeply flawed system of government, the country should be in a far better state than it is.
@talayojames@Bond_not_james ‘Citizens have obligations’, ‘citizens must make sacrifices’, but the government is neither fulfilling its own obligations nor making any sacrifices. Leaders are appointed then relax and ask citizens to lead by example. Nigeria’s problem is its leadership my bro.
@talayojames@Bond_not_james Lol. Human beings are chaotic by nature, and what keeps people in check is law and order. Take that away anywhere in the world and chaos will follow. This isn’t something unique to Nigerians, don’t let anyone deceive you.
@Bond_not_james You can install a million CCTVs and people will still act recklessly, because they know they can’t be traced, and even if they are, bribery will save them. Our leaders know what to do. Nigeria’s problem is leadership bros!
@Bond_not_james This is what happens when you put the cart before the horse. No database, no rule of law, no accountability, yet billions are poured into infrastructure and we expect it to last. Madness.
