Dear Virginia and North Carolina Friends,
Today is publication day for our book, BEER HIKING VA, NC, AND DC. Here’s the pubisher’s URL: https://t.co/0ycSY8ZWYI....
From there you can buy from your choice of vendors.
@TorilMoi Toril, I only took one class with Fred (Utopias in fall 2003), but it's hard to measure how much influence his work and his presence had on me when I was just starting out. My heart is with you and your colleagues at Duke and everyone whose lives were touched by Fred.
@kjavadizadeh Love this idea. Serious question, though: what counts as a "poetry collection"? Are you looking for only modern (say, 19th to 21st century) books? I'm a medievalist, but I can think of 16th and 17th c collections that would be perfect for this concept.
Does anyone know of examples of images of St Peter crucified (inverted), in any medium, that are of English provenance before, say, 1600? Below is the famous version by Masaccio, from the Pisa Altarpiece, ca. 1426 (now in Berlin). Thanks for any leads!
@Beervana Here in NC, the most influential version is Burial's Skillet Donut Stout, which is a very well made beer. But gah, why? I really don't like this trend.
@Beervana@markdredge@JonnyGarrett @mpkiser On your way home, stop in Winston-Salem NC and try the pivo at Lesser-Known Beer Co. (svetle, polotmave, and tmave). It is the best Czech-style beer I've had in US.
