Dad to Nate. Husband to Lorna. Leverhulme Doctoral Scholar - Critical Decade for Climate Change (UEA/Tyndall) focusing on migration due to sea-level rise.
Ēriks Ešenvalds 'Stars' is so utterly transcendent. I always stops me dead in my tracks, forcing me into stillness and wonder. Such a lovely rendition from @annalapwood. Thank you, as ever, @MannGeorgia and team @BBCRadio3#EssentialClassics
@philsturgeon@bristolgreen@Greens4HS2 @bristol_pip Sorry @philsturgeon - frustrating. Feels like there was a moment for @TheGreenParty to assume seriousness just and contribute to national debate on issues such as this. I think that has passed. Energy is probably better spent trying to influence the direction of other parties.
@RishiSunak you will be pleased to know that @bhlabour have received your note about prioritising cars and they are bringing traffic back to this busy and bustling, pedestrianised street. @TrevMu10@BellaSankey , you must be delighted to have identical views as Rishi Sunak!
Born #OnThisDay in 1820 was John Tyndall FRS. He published over 147 papers, discovered the Tyndall effect, and his work on glaciology and radiation led him to demonstrate the connection between atmospheric CO2 and heating, or the greenhouse effect. https://t.co/xpboBG8deo
@harry_b_smith @TheGreenParty That is exciting. Actually, would be interested in pulling together a paper on their policy platform (if I had the time). I suspect there are lots of inconsistencies and contradictions.
@harry_b_smith @robfordmancs Yes. IMHO one of the barriers is the ‘member-led’ structure of the party. This is partly responsible for a pretty sprawling and incoherent policy platform. That said, all parties struggle to balance overarching policy with local NIMBYism.
Hot take: I don’t want to use or transform my climate anxiety into anything. This western tagline is tired and doesn’t take into account how to have somatic capacity + grief space for uncertainty. Our fears shouldn’t have to fall into the machine of production. They can just be.
Excited to present a sneak preview and guided tour of our new #E_Learning course on #HumanMobility in the context of #ClimateChange. Couldn't think of a better place to share then #ECMN23. We see great possibilities of using the course in combination with classroom teaching.

No surprise the UK is off track to reach its climate targets with the new Cumbrian coal mine, Rosebank on the cards, airport expansion and zero accountability from govt & opposition whose only aim seems to be vilifying the ppl calling out the risks of not

Of the 36 academic jobs to be cut @uniofeastanglia 31 are in the Humanities. No discipline will be spared, we are told. We have many strengths in HUM. I run the world-famous Creative Writing programme. This is us in Sept 2022 in Zimbabwe, with new writers. @uealdc changes lives.
