@RemIsBuzzin@mweinbach Yeah everyone seems to be assuming that this is the only computer whoever buying it will have - and therefore declaring that power users or tech nerds shouldn’t consider it. I already have a desktop PC, I don’t need my laptop to be ultra powerful.
@Capitalists1776@BrodieOnLinux Genuinely getting people to just type in a URL and hit enter instead of clicking on the first Google autocomplete result is like pulling teeth.
@Thunder_Chicken@dmcgco Some laptops have two dedicated buttons below the pad but most are just one surface where the left half is left click and right half is right click. Laptops generally have no middle click function.
@dataguybobby@SawyerMerritt Oh I would be surprised if the specs are anywhere near that good even given how horribly this runs. Or perhaps the software is just written like absolute shit (or likely a bit of both).
@kataikou@joodalooped Please for the love of god don’t tell me that this person has been repeatedly buying new printers whenever they’ve run out of ink.
@qtnx_ Seriously? I use windows not Linux but the Linux system of package management is probably my #1 favourite thing about it on desktop compared to windows. Also what’s stopping Mozilla themselves in your example being the maintainers if they wish?
@JayExci Idk maybe he was just really good at spotting talent in others and potential in ideas. It’s kinda hard to believe someone could be so stupid in so many ways while having that kind of vision though.
@JayExci I cannot square that I feel Elon must have (or had) some kind of special talent in order to build two massively successful companies and become the richest man in the world with the fact that he’s clearly a blithering idiot in addition to being a fascist.
@Zafir88538734@GregoryMcFadden People who know a little bit about tech - enough to understand what a CPU is and that they perform differently etc but not a lot
@Zafir88538734@GregoryMcFadden But tech nerds understand that the A18 Pro is plenty powerful enough for a laptop, its non-nerds who think “smartphone chip bad” for the most part.
@OshyMew@spectrumashark@YourWaifu Yeah, I can usually type at about 80-90wpm which I think is slow for someone who can type properly but fast enough for my needs.
@spectrumashark@OshyMew@YourWaifu I still can’t touch type, I use a weird method where I use a few fingers on each hand and move my hands around the keyboard. I can do it without looking though and at this point I’m fast enough that I’m not really inclined to learn proper typing.
@spectrumashark@OshyMew@YourWaifu It’s not that surprising when so many places don’t teach typing. In my school we had one singular lesson on touch typing and that was it.
