I think the next insane thing with Astra and 3D will be in manufacturing.

Vibe-manufacturing with 3D printers en masse. In all sorts of materials.

I’m obsessed with making things on my 3D printer and the biggest issue is always the modeling time.

My mom asked me a few weeks ago for a very rare part for her toilet that’s discontinued and I’ve not been able to locate the manufacturers drawing of it to properly model it.

I have some photos of the broken part and measurements.

Gave it to Astra, alongside with the rest of the info.

Astra actually found some manual online with a small 2D drawing, combined with my photos and the measurements it was able to model the part in less than 2 minutes.

It made a .stl file, sent it to my printer in Sweden, and 1.5h later the part was printed and ready for my mom to pick up.

Absolutely nuts.

Everything will be put on its head, hundreds of new multi million dollar businesses will be made.

it’s still about creating the glue and value and ensuring repeatable outcomes.

But holy cow, I’m just amazed by how incredibly powerful of a moment this is.

this is the fusion of digital and physical.
and we are just getting started.
