@cwebbonline @gobigorgohome28 Looked like the officer shoved the reporter and while being thrown off balance his hand caught the officers pushing arm. The reporter wasn't even looking in that direction, his eyes still looking into the camera.
@beth_byers12@EastTexRangrFan@mcuban Almost as if the stated purpose had nothing to do with the true purpose. There has been no effort or incentives to actually encourage production here.
@EastTexRangrFan@mcuban Why would they if they don't have to? If there's no alternative competition to prevent them from raising prices? Free market would dictate that they maximize their profits. Unless you are trying to force them to fix their prices, which would be a command economy.
@Molson_Hart Sorry, not following, aren't these just characteristics of global capitalism? They care in that it may affect their income, which is about the extent that local corporations care as well. Small businesses that still care about relationships may care more, but may be fleeting.
@Molson_Hart There hasn't been a true bear market in decades, thanks to low interest rates overinflating the economy. Will be interesting to see how many will complain no one saw this coming.
@Dupree_Mike@JohnFMauldin Isn't most mass market manufacturing low margin? Only thing I can think of that we don't already have is high tech stuff. Most of the margin for those are captured here, with the manufacturing outsourced.
@LegaultThe94199@AttorneyCPA@RpsAgainstTrump No one is going to make a decision to build a factory based on a negotiating tactic. They have to be certain the tariff will be reliable to be able to crunch the numbers to see if building the factory will make sense. Trump never said these tariffs are permanent.
@ProjectADBNWO@RpsAgainstTrump Would any factory builder be willing to bet this administration would be willing to continue the trade war if it continues to be unpopular? Next admin? This plan to bring back new factories without direct incentives for building and training workers be dead before it even start.
@IPAofUSA@ramonvanmeer If the foreign tariffs are still in place (assuming our tariffs protecting the theoretical domestic manufacturers are also still in place), there still would be very little foreign demand for our products?
@BCaracass@ramonvanmeer How is the choice eliminated? Are you talking about complete foreign good embargo? I don't think anyone has been talking about eliminating choices?
@Jrb1398594@ramonvanmeer What would your test be measuring? His test is measuring whether consumers would be willing to pay more for a domestically produced version. With the different price points, there'd also be different expected sales # so economy of scale differences would also be a price factor.
