@kristenhowerton No one becomes an addict from a single prescription. BUT, no one becomes a prescription drug addict without a first prescription. And docs can be lazy and just write that narcotic to prevent complaints. It’s harder to talk to a patient than to write an Rx. System is broken.

@justinmaykel Your EMR should have a function that can be set up which doesn’t release to the patient until the doctor signs off. Even better in terms of patient safety/desires is if it alerts the doc and gives a window to review and if they do not review within that time frame it releases.
