We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant! With this, we will be running a community archaeology project in 2022 in the UK’s New Forest, excavating a former Romani site with descendants of those who once lived there (1/3). 💙
We’re looking for Gypsies, Travellers, Showmen, Circus folk etc in Cheshire who would want to speak to us about locations that are important to their history! The end goal is to include them on the Cheshire Local List (https://t.co/F5ewXwG9oJ) @Go_CheshireWest#cheshirelocallist

With the #PolicingBill in Parliament this week, we stand with Gypsy and Traveller communities in the UK who soon face the biggest squeeze on the travelling way of life since the 1990s. #WeRoamWithYou
Really enjoyed this webinar. It was great to hear about @romani_arch & John’s experiences as a filmmaker, historian & archaeologist. Love getting to learn about Romani culture through John. Can’t wait to see what you do with your project!

I’m genuinely so excited about this project - this is what archaeology should be, projects that elevate authentic voices, diversity and creativity. Looking forward to visiting and learning more about the Romani community! 👏🏽👏🏽
