Could not watch anymore from afar Ukraine’s 61 bln, military aid package stalled in the
US Congress despite passing the Senate with bipartisan support. So, I had to come to
Louisiana to see for myself and & share the current situation with Louisianians.
Russia hit Ukrainian civilians with over 500 missiles and drones this week. We must help Ukraine prevail. The 21st-century history is being written and we look weak.
My two cents on Schrödinger's Putin: a russian tsar (read bloodthirsty tyrant) who can and also cannot end his war
Why the war continues and what drives russian aggression? Tried to tackle those difficult questions in an essay for @NZZ
Russia asks Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan to close their borders with Russia.
Mobilization coming.

Two very stark contrasts.
Russians are queuing for up to 28 hours to buy fuel, and still complaining.
Ukrainians are spending their nights in metro stations, waiting out another wave of Russian missiles simply to survive.
One queue is the consequence of logistics coming under pressure. The other is the consequence of a deliberate campaign targeting civilians, families and children.
The difference couldn’t be clearer. 🇺🇦
The world needs to see this, and Caolan captures those emotions.
Civilians remain central to Putin’s campaign of violence and the evidence is there for everyone to see.
They invaded us. They were “the magnificent empire”. We were the lowly “pig breeders”.
When we didn’t greet them with flowers and fought back, they called us “American proxies”.
When America said “it’s not our war”, they called us “war mongers”. As if we attacked them.
In the fifth year of bombarding our cities, they started calling their strikes “retaliation” and our strikes “provocation”.
Which doesn’t change the truth: their war is a geopolitical murder in plain view. It’s fascism pure.
“Never again” is now, again.
Russia is losing the war and its economy is crumbling. Putin’s leadership has been disastrous. All Putin has in his dilapidated tool kit is bombing civilians. He’s hoping to pound citizens into submission. The U.S. and all free world must step up. The U.S. House has passed Ukrainian military aid and a Russian sanctions bill. It’s time for the President and Senate to follow suit.
Expansionist wars end only in one of two ways: the aggressor is defeated, as Hitler reminded us in 1945, or the cost of continuing outweighs the gains, as Russia learned in Afghanistan in 1989. There is no third way.

It was a pleasure to join @SkyNewsAust to discuss how Ukraine's wartime innovation is reshaping the future of defence—and why these lessons matter for Australia.
Ukraine has transformed itself into a global leader in defence technology by rapidly developing drones, counter-drone systems, AI-enabled capabilities and battlefield software. Innovation, adaptability and close cooperation between the military, industry and engineers have become decisive advantages on the modern battlefield.
These are not just lessons for Ukraine. They are highly relevant to Australia's own defence preparedness and sovereign defence industry.

@dcexaminer Former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir’s (born in Kyiv) conclusion applies also to Ukraine: “They said we must be dead. And we say we want to be alive. Between life and death, I don’t know of a compromise.”

OP-ED: Celebrating July Fourth, we should reflect on Patrick Henry’s call, “Give me liberty or give me death,” and simultaneously on our growing Orwellian legacy in Ukraine. The irreducible essence must forever be our own security. https://t.co/FcvBR3acEL
