@dkobia@moseskemibaro The problem, I think, is that it's as hard for Twitter to replace itself with a new version as it is for others to replace it. Peak twitter (IMO Between 2010 and 2015) was a moment in the life of the internet that cannot be recaptured.
Loved listening (belatedly) to Michele Schweisfurth strongly propose a change in the language of crisis on the Unpackinng the Learning Crisis episode of @FreshEdPodcast because, yes, "language matters". Hear ye, hear ye.
I despair at the language used in response to the perceived state of education in the global south. I'm not sure constantly beating people with terms like learning crisis , learning poverty, lost potential, etc is effective.
I watched The Shooter on Netflix the other day. (Don't ask—because). They had a character, an Ethiopian Bishop, whose name was Desmond Mutombo. Which, on the balance of probabilities, is not likely to be the name of an Ethiopian Bishop. But, hey, a trifling detail, right?
African writers : everything we write is African literature. We DEFINE what it is . And it is glorious and messy and expansive and delightful and sad and happy and everything that we are as individuals, and as members of our communities . It isn’t a SINGLE story
“Writing is something you do alone. Its a profession for introverts who want to tell you a story but don't want to make eye contact while doing it."

Wisdom doesn’t come from experience. It comes from reflecting on experience.
Between ages 25 and 75, the correlation between age and wisdom is zero.
Gaining insight and perspective is not about the number of years you've lived. It's about the number of lessons you've learned.
The people in your life who come to you directly with tender but tough feedback; who don’t whisper off to the side with others but sit u down and say it thoughtfully face to face; those people are invaluable. Those people help you grow & keep you grounded. Keep those people close
Elon Musk is the richest man in the history of the world and could hire an army of spies and detectives and intelligence analysts but instead chooses to ask random accounts on Twitter to give him scoops about everything from Apple to geopolitics.
The mind boggles.
Celebrating ‘Lugard’ - one of Kenya’s Super Tusker’s
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to one of Tsavo’s iconic and majestic Super Tuskers named Lugard, who has just passed away from old age.
I've been at a @TurkishAirlines@TK_HelpDesk "care centre" at Instanbul Airport for the past 2hrs. Given the no. of people who've come by and been told all is lost, they've no option but to buy a new ticket, missed connections make for brisk business. Buyer beware, I guess.
@DaphneMPenn Congratulations, Daphne! It was great to see you on stage on Saturday, albeit from a distance. So glad you got a hooding ceremony in as well.
I was wondering how/why us "lazy" work-from-home folk had managed to attract the scorn of the high priest of capitalism himself. Then I realised that a workforce that works largely from home will need/buy fewer cars. All right then.

This is great advice, not often offered (or heeded). Both losing and winning have the potential to take you off track if you don't know how to process them effectively and get back in the game pronto, in business, in life, in sports etc. Rest of the thread is pretty good too.
Common Trait: Reduce the Amplitude
Imagine your emotional state as a wave—with ups and downs above and below a baseline.
The amplitude of the wave is the measure of the peak swings vs. the baseline.
Winners find a way to reduce the amplitude.
Never too high, never too low.
According to @africaceoforum, in Africa today, only 5% of the CEOs of major groups are women. #IWD2022 What does it take to be a woman Edtech leader in Africa? Have you registered for #Edtech254? Tomorrow, from 4 pm (EAT) 16th March. https://t.co/oLQgQYTzzf
