Good performances by Nyk Lewis and Derek Dixon - two Gonzaga kids - in that VCU-UNC classic. Lewis hitting the free throws to seal it in OT. #HailGonzaga
I love watching Manny Machado play defense.
It’s March 6, three weeks into spring training. He basically rolled out of bed from a winter hibernation and did this like it was nothing.
It’s important that you understand what happened last night.
Last night, Stephen Colbert interviewed Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, a candidate who, by all accounts, is on track in the polls to flip Texas blue.
In response, Trump’s FCC reportedly threatened CBS if the interview aired.
CBS caved and pulled the segment, citing “financial reasons.”
In modern American history, no president has been more hostile to free speech than Donald Trump.
But censorship always backfires.
Here’s the full segment Trump didn’t want you to see.
I can’t say how much I’ve appreciated working with Mark this past decade. I’ve enjoyed every moment from being his editor to video producer to backup reporter. And I’ve learned so much from the best in the biz.
Thank you, Mark, for being a great colleague and even better friend!
Both things can be true: Trading MacKenzie Gore made the most sense for the Nats, and fans are frustrated and tired.
Trying to rationalizing another emotional trade, a feeling Nats fans are unfortunately accustomed to now. https://t.co/IQTUHweZEP
Nats prospects in @MLBPipeline’s new Top 100:
13. SS Eli Willits
54. RHP Travis Sykora
71. C Harry Ford
80. RHP Jarlin Susana
Willits, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, is the highest-ranked prospect of his draft class.
Rangers' farm hasn't been too highly rated recently, falling in the lower third of the league per recent rankings I found.
But they've had success drafting/developing, with a player receiving Rookie of the Year votes in each of the last three seasons and four of the last five:
Nats announce the hiring of Jason Sinnarajah as president of business operations. It’s a new position at the same level of president of baseball operations Paul Toboni. Sinnarajah was previously with Royals and Bills.
Quick story on Georgetown Prep product Matt Mervis agreeing to a minor league deal with the Nats that includes an invite to spring training.
Merry Christmas Eve! https://t.co/NyuWrllZmz
This line from @ToddZolecki's article when the Phillies hired Ani Kilambi stands out: "Former bosses in Tampa Bay routinely cited Kilambi’s contributions in unearthing under-the-radar pitching talent that produced at the big league level." https://t.co/e4w8eODwV1
A lot of questions surround the Nats ahead of the Winter Meetings. We got one answer last night.
Here are some other answers we should get this week. https://t.co/2TFEdDQZ3D
More on the different career paths taken by Simon Mathews and Sean Doolittle that led the two friends to reunite back in D.C.
"He's become a great pitching friend of mine in the industry." https://t.co/BTyH3enMiY
Blake Butera spent the last 2 years as the head of the Rays' player development. He's excited to take that experience and bring it back to the dugout, where he returns to the manager's seat for the first time since 2022. https://t.co/a4Tf7K99pm
News on Sean Doolittle remaining on the Nats coaching staff, and why Paul Toboni & Blake Butera felt it was important to bring him back.
"It's tough to not like Sean...he's really passionate about doing a great job in this role, which is exciting for us." https://t.co/IsdzfyfQYz
I was an NL Cy Young Award voter. Like everyone else, I obviously had Paul Skenes as the winner.
Here's a breakdown of his dominant season and the other four names on my ballot. https://t.co/F8Wgb5Dtgy
